“best macaron”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

According to wiki, the creator of macaron is PIERRE HERMÉ.. so I automatically assumed this is the best macaron in the world, and IT IS. I also tried some other cakes they got there, but nothing beats the macaron. Long queue is always expected. But worth all the time and penny ;)

“If you're happy to queue for 45', then the experience is worth it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

A long queue is welcoming you, get your family to wait at the fontain where they can refresh themselves , especially on a hot day like we had. As soon as you are inside, great choice and very nice service. Try the signature " the Hispahan", the 2000 feuilles praline is amazing, miss gla gla sorbet are ok and of course all the macaroons.. Overall great products at quite a premium price fro the brand..

“Best being in the eye of the beholder..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

I remain loyal to my first love of macaroons by Laduree. Yup, I said it! Against the popular waive of Pierre Herme followers, I find Pierre Herme macaroons too mushy and, besides, there is nothing even close to pistachio macaroons by Laduree over at Pierre Herme. And, no collector boxes at Pierre Herme either! Tarts and cakes looked amazing, but we came for the macaroons.

This is the place to get the best macroons in the world. it is better that Laduree, with more adventurous flavours and i think better made. yes, its more expensive, but deservedly so.

“Possibly the best cakes you will ever taste”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

We went to the shop on Rue de Vaugirard near Pasteur metro, first time we went was relatively late on, around an hour until they closed. There was still an amazing selection of some of the most eye-catching patisserie that we'd ever seen.

First occasion we bought one of their famous '2000' millefeuilles which was incredible, crispy texture, you could really taste the butter in the puff pastry and a light hazelnut cream. We also had a strawberry crème patissiere tart which was light and tasty in addition to a salted caramel large macaroon which was also very good if a little too rich perhaps, good for sharing (if indeed you ever would consider)

On the second visit we had a Montebello, a light sponge with a pistachio cream and strawberries, truly to die for it was so so good and typically eye catching. A chocolate slice with a shortbread base which was one of the best of the lot.

The service is personal and in fitting with the place as it is a very high end boutique, the prices are a little steep but its a special occasion type of place where excellence is clearly on display.
