Went here 22nd July recently during a trip to Paris, and then went back again! Sadly we only had a few days in Paris otherwise would have continued to go.
We loved the fact it was down a quiet street, away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas of Paris. Its also very anonymous from the outside, and you enter through a big velvet curtain inside the door.
We love the mix of old rustic and funky modern decor inside, yes it is small but I would rather use the work intimate. We had no problems getting a seat, and honestly the bar stools and around the bar is the best place to be to see whats going on.
The bar staff / mixologists were friendly, chatty and really knowledgeable.
The cocktails were brilliant, served without delay, and presented in a simple unfussy way, without all the old dated bits of decoration hanging off the side of the glass.
I think the prices were very reasonable for the 1) for the quality of ingredients used 2) for the classy ambiance 3) For the knowledgeable mixologists and definitely on a couple of Euro more expensive than the typical generic cafe on every street corner of the city (you know the ones, same chairs outside, same red awnings, same menu, no imagination places, designed to satisfy the need of the typical unimaginative tourist).
As for mention on other reviews of using ingredients that should never be used in cocktails, is totally not true. Firstly the name of the place is 'experimental', and secondly cocktails these days have moved on from the old 1980's favourites. Mixology is a new creative art and this place is certainly one of the best, and we have tried specialist cocktail bars around the world.
Think imaginative, classy, fun, friendly (staff and other clientele), and they simply love to take your through the ingredients and menu, and I believe will happily create cocktails to suit your taste is its not actually on the menu.
Advice - seek it out with an open mind and enjoy!!!
