“New year's eve dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

My parents offered my husband and I to spend new year's eve on Capitaine Fracasse, cruising the Seine and dining.
We didn't have a lot of expectations for the dinner quality, although it was quite pricy... What is no in Paris on that day?
The experience was great. The food was far superior to what we expected (we are French), really top quality. And that is not easy. We were at least 200 guests on the boat!
There were brazilian dancers and a singer which could have been much better, I think. But the views of Paris on that night will make it a night to remember for ever.

I recommend this dinner-cruise to anyone.

“Complete Waste of Time and Terrible Food”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Honestly, I made a rating selection because I had to. I visited Paris for my honeymoon in October (2012). My original plan was not to partake in one of these touristy river cruises. Falling for tourist trap attractions is not my travel style. I like to see the city and experince it like a local. Our concierge at the hotel highly reccommended this dinner cruise. Perhaps it was the wine (LOL) or the fact that Paris completely captured my heart that we took her suggestion and booked the cruise. Later that night, my husband and I arrived at at a dimly lit and abandoned dock. We did not feel safe! We were greeted warmly on the ship and were offered a menu in English. There were menus in every language (this was a tell-tale sign we had embarked on a tourist trap cruise!). Still, we sat at our table. Once the food arrived it was one dissappointing course after another. Honestly, I had better food from street vendors in Paris. In addition, what is the point of being on a cruise to see Paris at night if there is a roof above your head and you have to lean constantly to try and see even half of a building.

My original plan was to take the 11 euro night cruise on the Seine and then enjoy a romantic night in a Parisien restaurant with great Trip Advisor reviews. I know this would have been a more memorable night!

Take my advice, skip these cruises. They are not worth the money, the food is not what they advertise as far as quality/authenticity, and the views are limited and terrible.

Paris is a beautiful city full of LOVE and spectacular sites, I suggest wander the streets and see what the city and the people have to offer!

“Not what as paid for.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

VIP seating beside window costs 15 euros additional; VIP prestige seating which at front of boat costs 18 euros additional. Wanted the best experience in Paris since i flew all the way from Asia so i opted for the VIP prestige option. Amount paid and stated on email confirmation but was ushered to a standard VIP seating instead. Raised issue but personnel-in-charge couldn't be bothered to address issue and insisted that was the seat allocated. Ruined the entire experience right from the start. Service level could much be improved. Food was mediocre, house wine was crap. But the night scenery made up for the night. Just a note to all: you just might not get what you pay for and i am pretty sure i am not the first reviewer on this. In my opinion, if it is a glitch on the booking system ie accepting more vip prestige seats than the boat actually could accommodate, ratify it. otherwise, it is just in plain bad taste.

“5 star Dinner Cruise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

I have had the privilege of dining aboard Capitaine Fracasse twice now and can say unreservedly, that it is just fabulous. Don't go expecting MacDonald's food or American fare. It was a wonderful evening and the food is very different from mac & cheese or burgers, pizza, spaghetti, etc. It truly is an elegant dining experience. What fun to be able to go out onto the roof of the boat and see "tout Paris" glide by. I thought the prices were reasonable for the awesome ambiance.

“I feel ashamed to have brought my family here! TERRIBLE DINNER!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012 via mobile

The whole dining experience is so bad!
As my friend strongly suggested me to try cruise dinner in Paris, so I come here for this.
However, everything is not as fancy as I thought.
1. I have sent emails (in English) to confirm my booking before my visit and they replied me in French saying that my booking is ok. I know French people love to use French instead of English, but do they expect me to do Google translate about what they say....? Then when I arrived there, I found my name is NOT on that reservation list. Luckily, I am smart enough to bring along the email copy to prove their confirmation. I am clueless why I was doing so much to come to this place for terrible food......
2. Their waiters were poorly trained with no manner at all. They looked impatient when we r deciding the food.
3. FOOD is terrible! I ordered the beef while my family chose the fish. The pasta goes together with my beef is especially disgusting. I don't think they have cooked it at all. It is totally tasteless. The only thing I think is acceptable is the tiny chocolate block in the dessert plate.
4. Everything is bad here n it costs us euro200 altogether. Speechless.

I feel ashamed to have brought my family there.
