My wife and I stayed in the Iris Room, while my two sons and families stayed in the Lucie Loft and the Liette Suite - Helene and John Paul are so attentive and kind, providing each of our apartments with a bottle of wine and complimentary beer, soft drinks, milk and sweets

My eldest son had his 40th Birthday while we were there and Helene provided a bottle of champagne for our breakfast celebration

The pool is lovely to come back to after a tiring day in Paris and the small terraced garden is beautiful and peaceful

My wife and I loved The Iris Room as it was a tranquil retreat to where we could retire, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and grand-children

The Liette suite has a lovely kitchen and was generally where we congregated for dinner, or drinks, after having a meal in the City

Located in Montmartre, the accommodation is only a couple of minutes walk from the Sacre Coeur and 5 minutes walk to the Metro or City Tour Bus stop

Helene and John Louis could not do enough to make our stay more enjoyable

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

My boyfriend and I stayed at Paris-Oasis in the Iris Room for 5 nights in July 2014. I was very sad to leave I must say!

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with friendly faces (and a lovely bottle of wine), Helene and Jean-Louis are both absolutely lovely and go out of their way to help you with any queries. We were, upon arrival, given maps (which were previously emailed to us with thorough instuctions regarding the hotel location by cab - written in French, too, so you could just show it to a taxi driver (which we did), metro or walking) and we had no trouble finding our way.

As we arrived during rainy weather and didn't have umbrellas, Helene immediately gave us (without even asking) an umbrella and also a neck pouch for credit cards etc. if we wanted to use it whilst out and about.

The building is on a quiet street and is very secure - to get to the house you have to go through two coded doors and a locked door - which we loved, and is right at the base of Sacre-Cour. There were plenty of cafe's, restaurants and bars within minutes of walking in any direction (there was one specifically at the base of Sacre-Cour, it's worth eating there almost for the view alone!) however Helene and Jean-Louis also provide a list of personally tried and tested restaurants in case you need more options.

There was a bakery about 20m from the hotel, a laundromat and a supermarket just around the corner. Whilst I mention a laundromat, we had no need to use it - Helene was wonderful and did three loads of laundry for us over the course of our stay (we had been travelling for 4 weeks before our arrival) at no charge - it appeared on our bed sealed and folded. Perfect!

The room was somewhat small however perfect for our needs. There was a fridge stocked with Coke, Milk, Water etc. which were complimentary (and we were also provided with more water during our stay) as well as tea and coffee (a coffee machine was in the room), wine glasses, cutlery, plates, microwave etc. - very well organised!! The bathroom was immaculate and equipped with a hairdryer, make up wipes, body wash and shampoo, soaps, shoe polish, cotton buds etc. - so handy!!

We had a couple of things we needed printed as we missed them before leaving home and Helene was happy to help us and print them as soon as we forwarded tickets to her by email. One of which was our tickets to the Moulin Rouge. Not only were our tickets printed, but we were also surprised with a lovely bottle of Champagne and a sweet handwritten note to enjoy before we attended the show. The personal touches truly make the stay here that much more perfect.

The courtyard outside the room is absolutely lovely and perfect for enjoying an afternoon drink or relaxing breakfast outside. The neighbour's very friendly cat makes herself quite comfortable in Helene and Jean-Louis' living area, however we paid her a bit of attention in passing each day and she decided she enjoyed joining my boyfriend and I out in the garden area (we are cat lovers ourselves) which was very cute.

If I had to pick any faults it would only be that there was no fan in the room and it was quite warm at night, we couldn't leave the windows open as we kept getting little bugs in. But truly, this alone should not in any way make you pass up on staying at this wonderful little gem.

There are two metro stations very close to the hotel (Anvers and Barbes-Rochechouart, we used the latter) and Gare du Nord was only two stops from Barbes. Very easy to get to/from the station.

Merci boucoup Helene and Jean-Louis! You made our stay in Paris so much more than we anticipated. We hope to return in the future!

Thank you so much for your very complete and kind review about your stay at Paris-Oasis.
However, I must apologize because I completely forgot to show you the white tower fan stored in the wardrobe of your room. Fans are at the disposal of our guests in all our rooms (one air tower fan in the single or double rooms and two in each bigger apartment).
Next time, I will remember to show them to our guests.
Thank you for having mentionned this problem.
Warm regards from Helene and Jean-Louis Bignon

We stayed at Paris Oasis (in "Iris") for 8 nights in June. It was indeed a surprisingly nice oasis of calm in the busy city of Paris. We spent more time at our accommodation on this trip than anywhere previously: mostly because we had a lovely private courtyard in which to relax, listen to birds, take the sun, have our croissant and coffee breakfast, and a glass of wine before dinner. Our accommodation was very well equipped, bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was great (having been in many "quirky" european bathrooms we really appreciate clean and modern fixtures that work). The owners were exceptionally helpful and made our stay even better (our taxi to the airport didn't show up... they phoned the taxi service and waited on the kerb with us until the taxi arrived - above and beyond what many proprietors would do). I would not hesitate to recommend Paris Oasis : the accommodation and hosts make it a lovely experience.

Our party of 6, mom, dad, 2 kids (ages 14 and 5) and 2 grandparents had the great fortune to stay at Paris Oasis in mid-June 2014. Helene and Jean-Louis Bignon are endlessly gracious and helpful hosts and our two apartments, the Liette Suite and the Nino Suite, were absolutely fantastic and exactly what we needed to comfortably accommodate our multi-generational group during our stay in Paris. We used Madame Bignon's recommended driver, Monsieur Peeroo, to pick us up at CDG upon our arrival. He collected us in a large immaculate van and whisked us to Paris Oasis--a welcome treat after our longhaul flight. Upon arriving at Paris Oasis, Mme Bignon personally greeted us with a warm welcome, escorted us into the property and gave a tour and helped get our luggage into our accommodations. The Liette Suite is perfect for a family of four and well-designed to make efficient use of the space. We used the big kitchen and eating area for breakfast every morning and late afternoon snacks. The bathroom is cleverly devised with the toilet separated by a door from the sink and large shower so different people can simultaneously use the space. The apartment overlooks the lovely garden and patio which guests can use and it is a delight to open the windows and enjoy the lovely peaceful view. What a treat to sit in the kitchen enjoying a cup of morning coffee and listening to the birds chirping! Although the area immediately front of Sacre Coeur is quite touristy, once you get a block or two beyond it in each direction you are in a real neighborhood with lots of great amenities including parks, a small playground, cafes and stores, and small streets perfect for wandering. It is amazingly quiet at Paris-Oasis, particularly at night, although a few steps from the property will land you at the foot of the basilica and in the midst of the Montmartre neighborhood within an easy walk to the closest metro station, Anvers. As others have mentioned, there is a large Carrefour supermarket just around the corner from the property where you can buy anything you need, as well as a very good boulangerie/patisserie 1/2 block from the property. Our kids made good use of the swimming pool after touring every day and that was a lovely amenity to have. There are not enough words to described the Bignons who are simply amazing hosts--they gave us tips, did our laundry without charge, arranged for a van to transport us to the train station, loaned us a wheeled shopping cart which came in handy to haul all the food we bought back to the apartment, called a tour company when we had trouble with one of our arranged trips, and did numerous other things large and small to make our stay unforgettable. In my many years of traveling, I have never met such gracious, truly welcoming, kind and accommodating people. You simply cannot go wrong when you put yourself in their hands by staying in this lovely, peaceful property.

When you've been spoiled with the best, why try the rest? As soon as we walked through the doors into the courtyard, we already felt the peace of this true oasis in the heart of Paris. The name couldn't be more fitting. It's amazing how quiet it is. It's also extremely secure, with two different coded entries. Jean-Louis met us inside the doors; and we walked into the lobby, where we were welcomed warmly by his wife, Helene. We walked past the lovely, serene swimming pool, in its own glassed-in space at the edge of the garden, to our accommodation, the Iris Room. It's a little building of its own in the luxuriant garden, which made it feel like it was our own little Parisian pied-a-terre, totally charming. It has a bedroom; a small compact and very well-thought out kitchen corner, complete with mini-fridge, stocked with a half bottle of champagne, beer, bottled water and sodas; a microwave; and a Nespresso machine with a never-ending supply of capsules for regular or decaf coffee and also for espresso. Dinnerware, cutlery, wine glasses, wine opener, anything you really need is there. The bathroom is neat, clean and quite new, with a great shower and natural stone (marble ?) tile and countertop. Towels are thick, toiletries are provided, as well as a hair dryer; and the towel-warmer was a very nice touch. After giving us time to settle in, Helene brought us a tray with a bottle of red wine (our choice--she also offered white), sliced meats, three types of cheese and slices of crusty baguette. Enjoying it in our own private pergola in the garden was perfect bliss. (There was no charge for this or for the refreshments in the fridge or supplies for the Nespresso machine.) Only the urge to start exploring Paris together for the first time was enough to tear us away from this idyllic setting quite a long while later. We had each been to Paris twice before (in former lives) but never together. Dear friends from England arrived the next day and stayed in the Nino Suite, also perfect for two people, which had a little table and chairs outside it in the courtyard. There are also several larger rooms/suites suitable for family groups, but we did not see them. Together the four of us enjoyed Montmarte and other parts of Paris, as well as celebrating the birthday of one of our friends and our own 6th Anniversary. Yes, on the day of our anniversary, my husband and I even put a lock on the Lockers Bridge (or is it Lovers Bridge?) over the Seine, that we all saw while on a cruise. Helene and Jean-Louis both speak perfect English, which is a great help to those of us who never took it in school. Although whenever I travel I always attempt to speak in the native language first, with phrase book and dictionary in hand, it certainly was a boon to have the ability to ask them questions or for advice. Since the description of Paris-Oasis had included the fact that there is a washing machine (no dryer) in the basement, I asked when I might be able to do some laundry. The answer was that they would do it for us. It magically appeared about a day and a half later, folded neatly and placed in a plastic bag on our bed. When we later inquired as to how much we owed them, the answer was "Nothing. It was a pleasure." As others have said, you can walk to Montmarte, to the Metro, and to Gare du Nord, so you can make your way to any part of Paris. The four of us left together on the Eurostar for London from Gare du Nord, and it couldn't have been easier. Oh, and I musn't forget to mention the boulangerie less than a block away and the supermarket (biggest Carrofour in Paris) just a bit farther. Those who want to fend for themselves for some meals will find it easy. Our only regrets are that we couldn't stay longer and that we didn't really have time to spend with Helene and Jean-Louis, who are warm, welcoming, and simply perfect hosts. Staying here is enjoyable and a bargain for being in Paris. It's neat, clean, comfortable, convenient, quiet and peaceful. Paris-Oasis is most probably the best-kept secret in Paris. Shhh...don't tell, at least not if we get a chance to go again. We don't want to be disappointed by not being able to get a room, especially our favorite one. Merci Beaucoup Helene and Jean-Louis. We hope to return.

The Paris-Oasis is very suitably named. It's a calm retreat ideally situated at the foot of the Sacre Couer and within easy walking distance of the charms of Montmartre, and the Metro station at Les Abessess. We could even walk easily to and from the Eurostar at the Gare du Nord. Helene and Jean-Louis are engaging and hospitable, and made us feel at home. They have spent a great deal of effort in designing the accommodation, and it works perfectly.

Helene and Jean-Louis are the perfect hosts and have created the perfect accommodation to have made our stay in Paris a fantastic life time memory. The location is well placed to walk to many of the main attractions such as the Louvre and is centrally located in the lovely Montematre. We stayed in the Leitta suite and this was beautifully decorated and very roomy and functional. We could not in any way fault our stay at Paris-Oasis and we will definitely be returning for another stay and would recommend it to anyone travelling to Paris. Our only mistake was we did not stay longer!!! Thank you Helene and Jean-Louis for our stay and thank you for assisting us with our next part our journey (Venice) it was lovely of you to spend the time preparing a must see and to-do list for Venice, it shows how good a hosts you are.
