“Lovely, friendly hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Just spent a week here and wanted to echo the positive reviews. There were a couple of minor niggles, but overall a lovely stay.

I believe our room was not the smallest and it was a good size for Paris. We were lucky to have a modest balcony which allowed us to sit and watch the world go by as it was just big enough for a table and two chairs. The decor is great - clean modern lines with beautiful oak floors (I only wished that the person above us would stop clopping around in high heels once during our stay!). The rooms have everything you need, complimentary tea and water, a mini bar, safe large enough to fit a lap top, iron and board, slippers, bathrobes, free wifi, flat screen tv and clock radio with iPod dock. Bathroom with lovely Occitane products. The air conditioning was very efficient and very quiet and the bed was extremely comfortable with fabulous pillows.

Minor gripes: we did have someone try to come in despite the Do not disturb card on one occasion and we returned to find that the French doors to the balcony had been left wide open on another. As it was just about to pour with rain, it was good that we came back when we did. Whilst the bathroom was lovely, there was a certain knack to showering without flooding the floor. Something to do with the seal along the shower screen I think. We had mastered the technique by day three.

However these really were minor gripes. The overall impression was overwhelmingly positive, in great part due to the fabulous staff who were all friendly and helpful. The lovely smiles and greetings as you passed through the lobby really made you feel like a valued guest. Do take advantage of their advice about restaurants etc. I wish we had done so more often, as we discovered a lovely back street area across Boulevard Montparnasse filled with small inviting restaurants and bistros on our last day, which I am sure they would have told us about had we asked.

The hotel is very handy for the Montparnasse area and there are several metro stations within walking distance. The Montparnasse Tower is great for fabulous views over the city and Gare Montparnasse has rail links to Versailles which take less than half an hour. You can also walk to the beautiful Jardin de Luxembourg within 10-15 minutes. Then of course there is the cemetery which is also in walking distance.

So in summary, a well placed hotel with lovely modern decor and fabulous staff.

Room Tip: We had room 203 which is at the front of the hotel. You do get noise from the restaurant across the...

Dear Dizzy93,

thank you for your extensive feedback and comments about the hotel, we are pleased that you
enjoyed staying with us.

I'm sincerely sorry about the windows being left open whe you got back one day, my guess is that the Valet was just watering the flowers on the balcony (they need to be watered on a daily basis currently and the only way to access them is through the room) when you came back and didn't want to disturb, I'm very sorry and apologize for that.

We hope to have the pleasure in welcoming you back soon to the hotel le Six.

We have visited Paris several times, and we know if you stay central you get a tiny room as standard, so on this visit we were keen to find a bit more space! I found Hotel Le Six on TripAdvisor and saw lots of great reviews - we always like staying on the Left Bank, and so on studying the room sizes and amenities it looked like a good option.

We completely loved our stay here. We were only here for two nights, in the deluxe room, but it was perfect for us and in a lovely, different part of Paris. It's quite residential around here, so it was nice to be off the tourist track. Bed was huge, and bathroom was perfectly formed. Staff at the reception were very helpful indeed and recommended some great restaurants (including the wonderful Chez Marcel just opposite).

We walked everywhere. It is a little further to walk to some of the main sights, but the Jardins du Luxembourg are right on your doorstep and there were also lovely bars and shops nearby to explore. Plus, it's very close to Montparnasse Station if you are travelling from other parts of France (as we were).

Will definitely be back and recommending it to all our friends and family. Thanks for a lovely time.

I stayed for 2 nights while on business in Paris. The hotel is situated in a quiet street in central Paris in the Montparnasse area. For such a busy area of Paris it is surprisingly quiet so getting a good nights sleep is not a problem. I booked the room online at the hotel website which was quick and easy to use. The hotel has a lovely reception and bar area that really welcomes you on arrival. The staff on reception were extremely pleasant and helpful, even providing me with a shaving kit which I had forgotten to pack. The room had a big comfortable bed with very good standard pillows which is something I am picky about. The bathroom had a nice shower with L'Occitaine products for showering and washing. Overall the room had everything that you need, and was larger than other Paris hotel rooms that I have experienced. The location of the hotel is convenient as it is a 2 minute walk to the nearest metro station (Notre Dame des Champs). There are lots of great restaurant near by, and my personal favourite was Chez Marcel which is straight across the street from the hotel. When I asked the reception staff they gladly called and made a reservation for me which was great. Another night I asked for recommendations to eat nearby and was directed straight to another great restaurant within 5 minutes walk (Le Parc aux Cerfs) which was amazing. The only slight criticism I would make is of the WiFi, which is free, but the signal drops off very quickly due to inactivity. Overall this is a great hotel and I will definitely be coming back next time as a tourist when I can really make the most of it.

Dear globaltravel_8,

thank you very much for your review. We are pleased that you had an enjoyable stay with us at le Six and that you enjoyed our "insider tips" restaurant recommandation (we try to test everyting before we recommand it to our guests).

We are pleased that you enjoyed using the l'Occitane product that we proudly carry.

It is a big advantage for us to have so many metro stations around the hotel while being in a residential area and that makes us easily accessible to everywhere in the city within 10-15 minutes max.

The entire team and muyself wish you a lovely summer.

I booked this hotel based on the many excellent Trip Advisor reviews, and I was not disappointed. We arrived about five hours before check-in time for our four-night stay, and we were checked in within an hour. The staff was professional, friendly and helpful without exception, and our room was very spacious and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the wifi worked well. The bathroom was huge by European standards...we loved it! The breakfast buffet had a good selection and was quite tasty. The hotel is conveniently located very near at least two Metro stops and is a short walk to the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens...there are also many restaurants in the immediate area. All in all, an excellent choice in Paris, and we look forward to staying here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Le Six. The rooms were spacious, clean with modern touches. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We also enjoyed the breakfast which was fresh and tasty.. The location was incredibly close to the Luxembourg gardens, and we enjoyed walking to it almost every day with our children.

Dear Susanralphades,

thank you for your lovely review. We are pleased that you liked the hotel, the rooms and the staff.

Breakfast is great here, you can have pretty much everything you wish: organic breads and pastries, fresh juices, yogurt, cereals, fresh fruits, salmon, ham and a cheese selection...or we can try to get it

All of us here too enjoy to be in the vicinity of the Luxembourg gardens...it's a great spot for pick nick and to feel outside the city while beeing right in it.

Have a beautiful day !

Dear Mammu123,

We are honoured that you chose Le Six Hotel for your first trip to Paris. Thanks!

Besides the great location of our property you chose a special room category to stay in: the deluxe room. With a comfortable bed and “luxurious bathroom” we bet you had a romantic stay.

Our friendly staff is looking forward to welcoming you back for another satisfactory moment in the City of Light.

Kind regards,

Angela, Anne Levioux and the staff.

We were a middle aged couple with elderly parents, travelling in mid July. This is a very nice, modern hotel, set in a great spot with at least 2 metro lines close by. Although compact (typical of Paris), the rooms are well designed and the bathrooms were quite luxurious. The front desk staff was very helpful, with suggestions as to how best to get to places, recommendations for restaurants nearby, etc. They really went out of their way to help you.
