“Excellent dining experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

Our group of four enjoyed a dining experience at Vin sur Vin that will be remembered for quite some time. From the eclectic decor that can be found all over the restaurant, to the imaginative and delicious dishes - chicken, a vegetable plate, lamb, veal, rabbit - desserts - strawberries, pistachios, chocolate - and the wines, OH, the wines - an early 90's champagne and two 1999 Burgundian reds - to the service from the owners, who are attentive without being over-bearing, this is a place that anyone who loves a relaxed restaurant experience should have on their list of "musts" on their next visit to Paris. I know we all look forward to coming back to Vin sur Vin on our next trip there.

“Small Top Quality Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

Our second visit. Excellent seasonal food, beautifully presented. It feels like you are eating in someones home. Do not choose from the handwritten menu until the owner has explained each dish to you. He is a tour de force. The wine list is very impressive - he has an enormous collection, and the service is top quality. A treat - Highly recommended.

A fantastic dinner with friends. War and personable service coupled with a great wine list and exceptional food make this lovely small restaurant a winner.

“At Home in Paris”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012

My wife and I had a thoroughly enjoyable meal here on Saturday night. The house was filled with lively conversation. The owner was charming and the wine list and wine pairing he suggested were exceptional. The food was very good, though not outstanding.

What makes this place work is the "homeliness" of it. There are only a few, well separated tables and you get very personal attention, not from a waiter, but from the owner himself, who shares with you his personal passion for wine and food. It's almost as if he has invited you to his home for dinner and wants to open his cellar for you.

Prices are a bit high, but not for the overall experience and small number of tables, and there are choices of both food and wine along the price spectrum.

One comment on earlier reviews. We had a special bottle of wine that the owner took away, decanted and returned. Not only was it unquestionably the wine I ordered, but if this were the house wine substituted for mine, then everyone in the world should want to drink the house wine from this restaurant.
