“Didn't live up to expectations”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013 via mobile

I had cheese and fig starter which when when arrived was a filo pastry with lots of cheese oozing out of it no sign of figs maybe hidden somewhere, quite greasy.
Then onto the main, fish of the day with leeks and mushroom. Fish was cooked well but far too much salt and like wise the vegetables. Desert was a good chocolate fondant.

“Fantastic Food, Charming Service, No Tourists, Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

Loved this place. The staff could not have been more accommodating when we turned up at 9 with no reservation. The menu was interesting and diverse, with all the staples and some quirkier dishes such as frogs' legs. All prepared and presnted in a classic french style. The complimentary aperitif was a lovely touch as was the suggested wine. Would definitely recommend.

“Where The Locals Eat, Understandably”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

Our hotel manager suggested we try this place. It was charming, unpretentious and very 'real'. Not a dive, not a tourist trap, though there were other English speakers there. Our server was very pleasant but... there was an issue with odor. The wine, however, a nice cote du rhone villages, was incredible, and our steak and potatoes were delicious. We toddled back to the hotel afterwards, full, and sleepy from the effect of a lovely night together with good wine and good food in a beautiful city. Would definitely try again but must remember to brush up on our French, as the staff did not speak English and there is no English cheat sheet (nor would you expect to find one in a neighborhood place like this).

“Nice little find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013 via mobile

I read the reviews on here and must say the restaurant lived up to the reviews.

The restaurant is down a quiet road in Bastille. Cosy and quaint inside. The staff are very friendly and happily translate the blackboard menus from French to English.

All food and drink is reasonably priced. I had the courgette tart, seabass and cheesecake my Husband had foie gras, lamb and fondant and we couldnt fault any of it. Tho we wish we had time to return for the beef for two.

We were not rushed even tho the restaurant is extremely busy. The majority of customers are locals rather than tourists which is always a good sign of authentic food.

A very enjoyable evening and would definitely return.

“Authentic local French Bistro, serving delicious food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

We had walked past this little bistro many times and noticed how full it always seemed, packed with locals both at lunch and dinnertime. Knowing how the French feel about their food we thought that it must be good and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed, the food is delicious and very reasonable, we went at lunch time and had the menu midi specials, which represent very good value for money. The atmosphere is authentic local french bistro, serving good food to their mainly local patrons. We will be returning to soak up the atmosphere next time we return to Paris. If you are in the neighbourhood I would recommend that you do not hesitate to try it, I don't think you will be disapointed
