“Delicious though Challenging ...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2014

A small Traditional French restaurant on a narrow street ... it was recommended to us by friends that live in the city. The menu in French and the server speaking no English but we were there for the experience - and it was recommended. The meal was wonderful and a very neat experience. We did notice that all the English-speaking visitors seemed to order either the Boeuf Bourguignon or the Poulet - as they were the only meals decipherable. And they both were Excellent - though I wondered if we missed something even better by not knowing what else was available. Entrees were 15-25 Euros

“délicieux”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2014

Traditional French food of outstanding quality. The Bœuf Bourguignon was stunning. Another classic French dish, Blanquete de Veau (from the specials menu) was melt-in-the-mouth tender, velvety/creamy, and surprisingly wasn't heavy.

Service was polite and prompt, by a truly professional Maître d'Hôtel.

Ordered the house wine which was very good, and cheap.

If you are trying to locate it on a map, it is on Rue Guisarde, and not Rue Guisade as stated here.

“Patience is rewarded”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2014

We almost walked out as the Maitre was in a word "Gruff." Fortunately we didn't. Once we got to know each other, the evening was fun.
The specially is slow cooked meat, e.g veal shanks. When combined with the house wines (a bit rough but great value), the overall experience is a good meal at a reasonable price in a very French setting.

“Cozy, humble, great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2014

Small and quaint, with friendly staff, and superbly cooked food. Same price as other tourist-catch and otherwise less-worthy restaurants.

“It has been more than a year and I'm still drooling over the 7 hour lamb.”

Stumbled into this wonder little restaurant and am still drooling over the 7 hour lamb a year later.
