The Italian, family owned restaurant of Le Grande Venise is the best I have been to in Paris. When you eat here, you not only have a meal, but you have an experience. This starts with warm homemade bread, fresh cheese, and full raw vegetables being brought to the table for all to enjoy (the cherry tomatoes and balsamic were amazing). After enjoying this, the owner, a small Italian woman, comes to the table to explain the menu. After hearing her passionate explanation of the pastas, fishes, and meats, you will want to eat it all. The food was all very good, we had pasta and fish. They are very accomadating in that they will do tasting portions of different pastas if someone cannot decide which they would like (it is difficult with all of the great choices!). After the main course, you can opt to have desert. Their speciality is a mountain of caramel icecream that is brought out and the server carves off pieces. This is accompanied with chocolate sauce, caramel, nuts and all kinds of dried fruits and cherries for the table to share. The tiramisu was also delicious! The service was great and everyone was very nice and accommodating. If you are in Paris, it is a restaurant you must go to, but be sure to make a reservation!
