Business lunch with a long-time partner. We chose Il Carpaccio based on good reviews and discovered that between our booking and our lunch, the place had been awarded its 1st "Michelin star".
We indulged ourselves in a 3-course lunch and really enjoyed the food, which was subtle and refined, both in taste and presentation (the restaurant menu is available on the website of the Royal Monceau Hotel and a quick look at it will be more helpful than a long description of our lunch).
The desserts have been designed by Pierre Hermé and are especially interesting (the "infiniment citron" was splendid and above the "pannacotta").
Service was very professional and helpful but maybe not as quick as you would expect for a business lunch. A majority of the staff is Italian and this gives a pleasant "local feeling" to the atmosphere. We had lunch in the "winter garden" of the Royal Monceau, which was very nice.
In brief, food quality, service, atmosphere and prices are fully consistent with the brand new star awarded by the "Guide Michelin". I will come back !
