Description: La Fermette Marbeuf 1900 restaurant in Paris just a few steps from the Avenue George V and the Champs-Elysees is also the shortest route into Belle Epoque Paris of a century ago. This jewel of a restaurant, dating from 1898, was rediscovered in the course of renovation thirty years ago and it must have been like opening King Tut's tomb. There are wonderful things here: Art Nouveau mosaic and stained glass sunflowers, peacocks, dragonflies, beautiful women, cast iron pillars, and a soaring glass ceiling. Chef Gilbert Isaac mainly sticks to French classic dishes, like chicken liver pate with onion marmalade, whole grilled seabass flamed in anise, and rhum babas. This is a hotspot for celebrity France to see and be seen.

“Wonderful restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2014

My daughter & I spent just 1 night in Paris last weekend, therefore selecting a good restaurant was vital. We could not have been more delighted with our choice - the food, wine, service & location are all perfect. We were so happy that our request to be seated under the dome was met & thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

“Stunning”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2014

Wow – what more can I say? Surroundings are stunning and the food superb, staff very attentive and made a birthday meal into a very special occasion. We had requested a table under the glass dome when booking and it was so worth it – just beautiful. A wonderful dining experience.

“Spectacular”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2014

Having read mixed reviews and knowing full well that it's unlikely that a restaurant will have both 'wow' factor aesthetically and great food I was pleasantly surprised.

I had written ahead and requested to be seated in the room with the domed glass ceiling as it was a surprise weekend for my sister's birthday. This request was fulfilled and the staff at Fermette Marbeuf could not do enough to make this a special experience for us all. The waiting staff were polite without being stuffy, and attentive without being intrusive. The surroundings are beautiful and the meal itself is among the best I've tasted - steak was perfectly cooked and mouth watering and the Grand Marnier souffle was delicious.

If you are in Paris, pay a visit to this restaurant - particularly if you want something really special.

“A true Parisian experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2014

I had read somewhere that dining here was like dining inside of a Faberge egg. And it was. So exquisite was the Belle Epoque room where we ate lunch that we stayed for 3 1/2 hours! The food was amazing and beautifully presented. The service was also impeccable. This is how I always imagined dining in a true Parisian restaurant would be. It was a bit of a splurge--our most expensive meal while in Paris and it was just lunch--but for 4 girlfriends on a getaway sans husband and kids, this was a highly memorable experience. Even the restrooms were beautiful! Get the three-course lunch or something with puff pastry (the blue lobster was outrageous), and definitely a glass or two (or a bottle) of the rose champagne.

“Been here many times and hope to go many more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2014

Happily stumbled upon this gorgeous and delicious restaurant many years ago and have been returning ever since. When escorting study abroad undergrads I convinced my fellow professors to book a table here, promising it was a total delight for the senses: beautiful sight for the eyes as the café is situated at the corner of a lovely, quiet street just off the Champs de Elysee with interiors that are astonishingly beautiful; lovely experience for the ears as quiet diners engage in conversation and happy couples laugh at the beautiful bar; and most especially extraordinary experience for the taste buds and nose. Food is delicious. I have had many dishes here and all were fabulous. Favorite salad was a frisee, leek, soft boiled egg delight that was absolutely to die for. Can't find my photos--but the Garden Room is so beautiful it gives me goose bumps just to think of it. Book a table here if you have the chance.
