“Favorite spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

Fish is one of our favorite places to eat in the 6th. Friendly service, delicious food, excellent wine list. Considering the small size, it isn't ideal for large parties. But they always try to accommodate us.

“Great food and atmosphere in Buci area of 6th”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

"Fish" has become very popular, and is often packed with non-French. However, the atmosphere, the food and the attentive service are all great, so its reputation is well deserved. The food is almost more something you'd find in San Francisco or New York, not classic French, more delicate and fusion-oriented. Menu changes often, but there are always a mix of offerings. The wine list is exceptional (owner sources wines and has a wine shop nearby). You have to make reservations as it gets crowded and there is limited space at the bar. The owner really does a fine job running this restaurant down to many details (bread, bathrooms, wine glasses, and on and on). It has two cousin eateries on the same street which I haven't tried. Prix fixe menu is quite reasonable (35 euros). I came away satisfied and happy.

“Must do in this part of town - and not a fishy as you expect !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

This place just leaves you feeling you had a good dining experience.

Good menu, fair value, great cooking and totally switched on staff.

Three courses for 38 Euros, 2 courses for 35 Euros. This price included sparkling water, bread, taxes and service.

We did mains and desserts. My mains (St Jacques or scallops) were as good as I have ever had. Different yes - with some gnocchi, red onion, shallot sauce and other magic that really wowed. Desserts were not so out of the box but fine.

Interestingly whilst it is in an old fish shop, the menu is only partially seafood - only one of the four mains choices was seafood on our night, and two of the starters.

The place buzzes and the often non-French staff are passionate. If you can get there it should be a feel food experience. If you are staying nearby then it is a must do.

“Right next door.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

This place is such a treat. The bread is delicious. The fish is cooked perfectly (not over cooked as is so often the case.). The service is attentive but not intrusive. The wine list is extensive. And only two doors down from where we stayed for the month of December. Wonderful experience

“"DRINK LIKE A FISH"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

The owner of this small fish house who is from Miami told me that the original name of the
restaurant was Poissonnerie (a fish market). He changed the "P" to a "B" to make it Boissonnerie which means boisson (to drink) and poisson (fish). Together it means "Drink Like A Fish. And speaking of fish, their marinated tuna with mango is delicious. If you like fish, you'll like this tiny
eatery. The tables are really scrunched together so don't expect privacy.
