The flame-grilled meat at this place is some of the tastiest we'd ever had! Our dining experience here stood out for both its food and vibe. We went for dinner on New Years Day without a reservation. After a few minutes wait we were seated downstairs - to our surprise, at a 4 seater with a couple of strangers. This took a little getting used to, but in Paris, space is at a premium vs what one may be used to at home. Hangers on the wall for coats and scarves were a useful touch in winter. There was a constant happy buzz all around and service was brisk, iof somewhat constrained by language difficulties. We mostly pointed rather than spoke.
A good selection of affordable wines - the Cotes du Rhone we had was fantastic and a great complement to the food. How do the French even make lettuce delicious? My lamb chops were good but I did envy my partner's steak, grilled to perfection. The mustard was also amazing! We shared delicious sauteed potatoes, and managed to squeeze in some creme brulee afterwards. All in all, a very satisfying meal - particularly on a cold winter's night.
