On the recommendation of a friend, we had lunch at Chez Leon, tel. 01-42-27-06-82. It's in the 17th Arrondissement and a bit hard to find. Take the Metro to Monceau Station, cross the Blvd. des Courcelles, then go up Rue George Berger. It becomes Rue Legendre. We were warmly welcomed by a staff that speaks English. Many of the tables were already reserved and we believe that were were the only non-French patrons. The food was outstanding: perfectly cooked risotto with asparagus and champignons, langoustines in ginger froth, cold mackerel atop chopped vegetables in a tomato and olive oil sauce, stemed cod, moist anf flaky on a mixture of leeks and girolles mushrooms, and two delectable desserts - molten chocolate cake and baba au rhum. It was one of the best meals we have ever had in a restaurant.
