“Don't bother”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

This restaurant is one of the oldest in Paris, but I'd guess that only tourists eat here these days--locals know better. The décor is charming, but our waiter was rushed and the food was mediocre at best. We had chicken and French fries--half a chicken plopped on a plate with a mound of fries. Sure the prices are cheap, but you're better off paying a little more for a meal you will enjoy.

“From another time...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

Pros: Food of course, price, atmosphere, location, wine.
Cons: No reservations, no personal table you will share.

The food is exquisite and escargots the best. They serve a wide range of French cuisine and everything was delicious. The big problem is the line and that you will be seated with another guys in same table but is ok you will enjoy wine and food at this place like no other.

The menus are in French.. none available in English. Basic good fare. Quick service. Great french fries.

“Very very poor”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

Went there because this place was advised on a Paris guide book. This place is atrocious. Noisy, chaotic service, poor quality food, a perfect tourist trap. The only attraction is the decor I guess, but who cares, don't go there!

“it's because of a recommendation on why we ate here, but never again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013 via mobile

the restaurant has such a nice ambiance but by the time we were seated, it just went downhill.

when we came in, the restaurant wasn't full. the tables are set for parties of six throughout the restaurant. we were placed on a table where there were diners already despite having tables that were empty. We want to leave after that but our next chair neighbors were actually nice.

unless you are fluent in French, you are not going to understand the menu because there's no English translation which surprised me because we've gone to other restaurants after and all have it. the server was too busy to assist us with translation and didn't want to explain the menu. As for the food, I was disappointed since I've been waiting to try authentic French cuisine and it simply was too stale. we ordered the steak since we can't translate the menu and everybody seems to be eating it. it's not good at all! doesn't even have any flavor! only thing I like was the Bordeaux wine but everything else were disasters!
