Knowing Bofinger`s from many many years ago, I decided to give it again a try, and it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise ! I was a bit cautious from some not so overwhelming reviews, but
let me tell you, we enjoyed it tremendously ! The atmosphere with all the brass and mirrors,
the very traditional dressed staff, the attentive service, it all accumulated in a very pleasant
experience. Food was very good, focusing on seafood, but also the meat was excellent..
Not to be misunderstood - this is a very traditionell place, and if you do not like it that way, your
opinion might be otherwise. Two tables away was a group of young ladies, and they just jumped
onto a big seafood platter, finishing it in no time with a lot of giggling and oh and ahm, obviously
they had a very good time. But there was another gentleman, who just was not happy, because
his meat was too raw....his plate looked to die for, and in France, they have a tendency to
prepare meat that way.. Presentation is very traditional, and therefore not so on the fancy
decoration side. Solid anno 1900 style. You go to this place to eat, and you won`t leave hungry.
The bill was reasonable, not more than in other good quality European restaurant. There are
other places in Paris where one really can spend money, but such places I always avoid.
Most of the guests have been French, and they are not known for accepting bad food..
