We stayed here in July of 2012. Our party of 3 adults and 3 children occupied the top floor, which was the Provence Suite and the Louis XVI Suite, plus another bonus room that included a computer and fold out couch.
They Jays is awesome. It took a little while to get over the fact that this is not your typical full service hotel. There is no room service. The restaurant is only open for breakfast. We waited a little longer than usual for taxis to show up. But we ended up with an experience that made us forget about all that stuff. The kids keep asking "when can we go back to the Jays?"
The staff we encountered bent over backwards for us no matter what the request. We enjoyed having a drink with the manager on staff during the evenings - they would even deliver glasses of champagne up to our room on request. There is no bar - the drinks are all on the house. We enjoyed the daily deliveries of fresh fruit and Fauchon chocolate. We came to appreciate the neighborhood. At first glance, it was empty and quiet. The kind of place you want to live, but not necessarily vacation. But after spending a few days we found the cafes, markets, and wine shops that really make a neighborhood unique. The best part - no souvenir shops in sight, and no hoards of tourists clogging up the sidewalks and cafes.
