“Romantic retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

I took my wife on a romantic Birthday getaway for a surprise and the room did not disappoint. With chic yet modern design it was the perfect setting for romance whilst in the city of love.

Staff was really friendly and always willing to help. The area that the hotel is in also has good transport links and some really cheap wine shops very close by.

I recommend this hotel for any couples in search of a romantic boutique hotel who seek a sexy ambiance for night time settings

Room Tip: All rooms are really good

I chose this hotel based on a recommendation from a friend, and have to say that it is certainly worth it for the room experience alone.
The levitating bed,the 'starry sky' ceiling, the shower enclosure at the end of the bed.All make it a hotel worth visiting.
Location wise, the hotel has a couple of Métro stations within walking distance (Censier Daubenton and Les Gobelins),that can get you to most places you might want to go,without too much trouble
The only downside that we encountered during our stay was when we were in the Hotel bar. There was a very limited wine range,as well as a barman that seemed more interested in his laptop, and mobile, than his clientele.
Now that we've experienced the eccentricity of the hotel once,I'm not sure if we would return on our next visit to Paris, but I'm certainly glad that we had the pleasure on this occasion.

I say 2nd best but only just, We had an excellent stay and it truly is a unique hotel.
We brought our 3 1/2 yr old daughter to Disney land and we decided we'd stay in Paris for a night before we went home, so while looking up hotels our daughter seen the pictures of the hotel rooms and that was it they had to be booked.
I know the hotel is not reilly aimed at families but the staff we're great especially the bar man and all our daughter is talking about is that flying bad and nothing about Disney land.
We had the levitation room but next time we said we'd try the 007 room.
All in all I would highly recommend this hotel it's spotless, well located, nice area ( some really good sushi restaurants), friendly staff.

Stunning room, with backlit furniture, cloudy starry ceiling, floating bed, double shower. A real wow factor when you first open the door.
Really appreciated the upgrade on my wife's birthday trip too. Great cocktails served in the bar till 1am. Great ambience throughout the hotel. No scrimping on the quality fittings either, large HDTV, cordless phone, and nesspresso coffee machine.
The only things stopping me from scoring 5 was the poor breakfast buffet (we got there at 10.20, almost nothing left. If you say breakfast is served till 11, then do) and a careless maid leaving a toilet roll wedging our door open while we were out all day. Not enough to tarnish our stay though, this is a really slick hotel. <Almost too slick with polished (!?!) wooden spiral stairs that made getting downstairs other than in the lift impossible>
Would visit again for sure

There are many wonderful ideas in the concept of this hotel, however we encountered a leaking shower which soaked the carpet, and when moved to another room, encountered exactly the same problem. There is nowhere to put the shower head while you shower, so you must shower one-handed or take a bath instead.

Bed was very comfortable and rooms very quiet, but I'm afraid I absolutely require a shower while holidaying.

The hotel also makes you sign an agreement not to bring any food into the hotel, which I found ridiculous.

As a Bond fan I was very much looking forward to staying in the 007 suite! Although check in is at 4pm we didn't arrive until just after 5pm but was disappointed to be told that our room was not quite ready. We were however given a free drink from the bar and the room was ready within 10 mins.

I've stayed in a number of contemporary/themed hotel rooms around the world and this is certainly now high up in my Top 10. Everything from the lighting and mirrored ceiling to the remote controlled screen that hides the massive TV is very cool. There's not much of a view from the windows but there's more than enough inside the room to keep you entertained.

With all the Bond movies available on Blu-Ray I thought I would end the night with Casino Royale. Frustratingly the Blu-Ray player would not work and after having two different night staff trying to clean the same disc they finally admitted defeat. We were offered a half bottle of Champagne but it was by now too late in the night and told them I would take it up with reception in the morning (which I did and was happily compensated with more than just a half bottle of Champagne).

Despite this late night issue, overall the ladies on reception were fantastic and very welcoming but the night staff are not quite up to the same standard.

Location is convenient for the likes of the Catacombs and Montparnasse but you can get to most places relatively easily by the Metro (about 10-15 mins walk away from the hotel).

My only tips for improvement would be

1. A bigger shower handle on the inside (to make it easier to shut properly for the Turkish bath)
2. Complimentary minibar - I realise this is a rare treat but last month I stayed in an equally nice (and slightly less expensive) hotel room in central Rome and they re-stocked a complimentary mini-bar each day
3. Have a spare Blu-Ray player for emergencies

Overall I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone and I will certainly return to try out one or two of the other themed rooms.

Dear James.....

I am sorry to read you did not watch our Bond collection during your stay!!!
But I do thank you you gave me the idea to buy a secund blu ray player.
Believe, we will make your next trip with us a unique Experience.

I took my now fiancé to Paris to propose and wanted somewhere special to stay and wasn't disappointed. Wonderful boutique hotel and stayed in the levitating bed room. I looked at booking an old fashioned hotel originally but when I saw the pictures of this I took a chance and my fiancé and I totally loved it. Very romantic and modern and to lie in a levitating bed to watch the twinkly stars was lovely. All glass room so you can see each other in the bath while lying in bed was great as it felt we were together sharing everything. The lighting was really cool. Very helpful staff who gave us maps and bus routes (21) to the louvre.
I proposed the day we got there and on our return to the hotel the manager asked if we had a good day to which we told her what happened. She very kindly offered us champagne on the house and was very excited and helpful.
She also recommended and booked a table for us with a lovely balcony setting. On our departure we said we had eaten some food and drink in our room to which she offered this free for us also.
All in all this is a wonderful hotel with great friendly helpful staff that we will definitely be revisiting and hopefully stay in the Mary Antoinette room or even the 007 themed room which just looks so cool.
A big Thank you to everyone that helped make our stay memorable and romantic.
