If you have travelled a bit and have spent a significant portion of your life staying in hotel rooms it is rear to come across something you have not seen before, but in my case that was until I arrived at Seven Hotel Paris. It starts when you get out of the taxi in front the building, which is changing colors and it continues as you enter the lobby with crazy furniture, wall fabrics and light fixtures you did not know existed.
Then after getting out of the elevator, which is a bit like spending time inside someone's jeans, you arrive at the guest room door, which is also changing colors. However it is when you enter the room things goes crazy. There is a dozen light switches on the wall activating individual led lights everywhere from the ceiling, glass imitation wardrobe, furniture as well as under your bed and bathtub, which are both only fastened to the wall, hence they seen to be flying in the room.
What is important to me is sleep quality and getting a shower in the morning without too much of a hassle. The bed was most excellent and gave me a good nights sleep, however the bathroom functionality disappeared with that crazy room design. A huge bath tube is inside a glass cabinet in the middle of the room taking up way too much space (yes you will not share room with your mother), and there is no shower head fixture making it impossible to take a proper shower as you have to hold the shower head in one hand while washing yourself with the other. Also, there is nothing preventing the water from going all over the place as only half the tube is covered properly. The result is that the water covers half you room including the hallway and the passage to your bed.
The breakfast room is very nice, but the food selection is very unhealthy. We are talking corn based cereals, chocolate chip cookies, more chocolate, pancakes etc. Eat here every day and you won't make it to retirement !
