“Great location, great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

The Hotel Michelet Odeon backs up on the Jardins de Luxembourg on the Left Bank. It's a short walk to shopping and galleries on the Left Bank and a walkable distance to the Louvre and other Right Bank museums and sights. Simple, spare rooms, modern, clean, quiet. Excellent value. At 14 Euro, breakfast (coffee machine, processed cheese) seemed pricey, so I skipped it and found my caffeine-and-croissant fix elsewhere.

Room Tip: If you need an accessible room, don't take a high room. The lift doesn't go all the way up.

We spent two nights here during a recent stay to Paris. The rooms are not large, but very modern (not always typical for a Paris hotel) and well-equipped. We had a beautiful view of the Palais du Luxembourg from our fourth-floor room. The hotel staff was fine (we didn't ask anything of them, and they didn't seem particularly friendly on the whole, but not unfriendly either). You really can't ask for a better neighborhood - right between Saint Michel and St. Germain des Pres, with lots going on at all hours of the day and night. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was basic. Rates were most reasonable for the location. Room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. Lots of street noise at night. Breakfast was easily available at the many cafes in the area. Lacking in the "charm" department but one doesn't come to Paris to sit in one's hotel room. Well, not in this hotel.

Spent 8 nights with 2 then 7 family. Used 4 different rooms including the family double room. Great price, friendly staff with most speaking adequate English and a location in the center of everything you want. Also lots of taxis available for transportation and 5 minutes from the Metro at St Germain, 10 from the train connection through Luxembourg. This is the 3rd time over the last 10 years that we have stayed. Major retrofit in process but we like the decor. Front windows open on the Odeon square and back on a key daytime street. Music and fun in the square but fairly quiet after 1100pm. Rooms are small but adequate, fans but no air conditioning. Breakfast served but we love to try all the local places for petit dejeuner. Student and visiting professor area with good shopping and great artisan food. Small backup store a block away is open until 100am. Choice of rooms available but we took what was assigned and loved them. Good people. Felt appreciated. Will go back. Free wifi most days. Children were teenagers but very young visitors loved the little boats in the Jardin de Luxembourg 5 minutes away.

Room Tip: Choose a family room if you are more than 2. Several hold 3 but only 1 for more and its often book...

we stayed in the large room on the top floor which was spacious (by paris standards). beds were very comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean. the breakfast is very expensive and in my opinion not worth it. even my children aged 6 and 8 paid the adult rate of 12 euro per person. it consists of cereal, fruit and other bits and pieces and coffee from an automatic coffee machine. we only had the breakfast one day as we had to be somewhere very early and i thought it was overpriced can find lots of nice places for breakfast that are much better value.
the other thing that i did not like was that there was no tea or coffee facilities in the room or in the lobby. on evening i was feeling unwell and asked for a cup of tea and was billed 3euro on checkout for the pleasure, this was a little overpriced i feel.
Hotel is in a nice location, it is quiet. the hotel is clean and the staff helpful.

Room Tip: dont have the breakfast! the quality is good but the price is too much! and dont ask for a cup of te...

This hotel was very nice and clean. The hotel also has a lift for your luggage which is nice. The continental breakfast was good. The hotel overlooks the Odeon Theatre and is around the corner from Luxembourg garden. The closest metro station is about a 7-8 minute walk away and about a 10-12 minute walk to the Latin quarter.

This is a moderately priced hotel in Paris in an excellent location so don't expect frills. What you will get is a decent room with free wi-fi in a very good location. Our room - the quad because we had 3 people (the two of us and our 6 year old)- was very spacious with a huge (by european standards) bathroom. It was clean and relatively quiet most of the time - windows closed. But and this is a big BUT, be forewarned. This hotel is right next to the Odeon Theater. The first 5 nights they had events, no big deal. Sound machine, didn't hear a thing. The last night we were there, without warning, they had an OUTDOOR rave. Outside in front of the theather with amplifiers. It started at 11pm and went until 3am. The hotel vibrated. If this had happened on night one, we would have been looking for a new hotel.
