DESIGN AND DECOR
The building itself was finished in 2006, so it still smells and looks brand new. From the moment you walk in through the revolving doors, you're greeted by a smart looking bar and reception which are both very stylish and modern. The style even extends to the corridors with atmospheric lighting and curved ceilings. The rooms are clean, bright and large. Plus, because the hotel is purpose built, the rooms are very well sound-proofed. Once in your room, you won't hear anything other than your air-conditioning.

LOCATION
The hotel is a 5-10min walk from the bustling Gare Montparnasse with shops, restaurants, cafes and cinemas. The nearest metro station is Pasteur on line 6 (walk straight out of the hotel and cross the road at the crossing, turn right and then take the second left. The station entrance can be found in the centre of the road carriageways). From Pasteur you can catch a train directly to the Eiffel Tower. The road the hotel is on is very quiet with very little traffic. The area is safe to walk around in at night.

THE ROOM
The room is large, clean, bright and well lit. In the batheroom, there is a sink, shower cubicle and bathtub (with another shower nossel for washing hair while in the tub). The toilet is seperate from the bathroom. A hair dryer, towels and toiletries are provided. There's a safe which can store a laptop, a mini fridge (with a free bottle of Vittel water put in it each day) and tea and coffee making facilities. The flat-screen LCD TV provides pay-per-view movies and sport (in a variety of languages) plus a selection of TV Channels (TF1, France2, Canal+, Sport+, BBC World, Al Jazeera, Disney Channel, and channels in Chinese and Polish to name but a few). There's around 15 channels in all. The bed is massive (king or queen), firm and comfortable. Also in the room is a desk and sofa bed. The room is cleaned daily and they do a very good job too.

SERVICE
The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. They answered all my questions and served me to a high standard. They all spoke excellent english. Security seemed high while I was there with a permanant guard on the main entrance and your room key card necessary for using the lifts to the rooms.

In all, I highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for 3 nights and was impressed by the helpfulness of staff, the large pleasant room and high standards of cleanliness. Breakfast was more than adequate and not too crowded while Dinner was good on the 2 nights we ate in the restaurant. The service could have been better and the menu was a little uninspiring for Paris. The hotel is well placed for travel into the centre of Paris (best Metro is Pasteur) and there are several restaurants nearby. The best that we found was the Pot au Feu in Rue Pasteur, 300 yards away. A taxi back to Charles de Gaulle airport was 62 euros although this is better than travel via metro and RER, with luggage. All in all, a very pleasant hotel with a good rate of 98 euros per night, inc breakfast but no cancellation.

  • Liked — Very nice modern room and helpful staff.
  • Disliked — Some confusion when working out our bill for the party of 4 friends.

Hotel is modern an looks brand new.

About a 10 minute walk downhill to the Bars/Restaurants of Montparnasse and Metro station.
Metro only a few stops from Centre of Paris.

Large Room with great facilities. Rooms clean and tidy.
Queen bed and sofa bed in our room.

Parked my car at rear of hotel for free.

On a negative. There are a lot of hotels closer to the lively centre of Monparnasse. This was a little out of the way.

A trip to the top of Montparnasse Tower is a must. Breathtaking views without the queues/lines of the Eiffel tower.

We stayed at the novotel gare montparnasse over christmas. Loctaion wise the hotel was convenient. Though not near the main attractions, it has two metro stations within a 10 min walk so was easy to get around. The room was very good - lots of space good bathroom with separate shower and bath and also coffee tea making facilities. There is a sofa bed in the room so a double room can actually accomodate a family of 4. But the hotel restaurant is no good. We had dinner there the first night when we arrvived and it was tastelss.

The reception staff were okay and spoke english. There were sevaral restaurants around but most were either closed over the holiday period or closed early in the evening. But one evening we walked further down about 15 minutes walking and came to the cinema. There are more cafes around there and also an excellent grill & bar. I think it was called Hippopotamus.

The hotel itself is in a quite street but its safe to walk around and its 5 minutes away from the montparnasse station. There is also a shopping mall nearby.
