“Great Place, just around the corner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014

This is a brand new Novotel, with rooms bigger than usual for Paris and in a great location.
It is just 50 mts from one of the exits of Gare Montparnasse. Where you can get a subway to everywhere in Paris.
But it is at walking distance from Rodin Museum and Invalides (20 min walk) and from the Eifel Tower (35 min), but you can easily get a metro at Pasteur station and get there.
Mind that, besides the hotel is at one of the exits of the Gare, you will get faster into a subway train walking up to the Pasteur Station. We compared and from the subway station at Gare it takes almost 25 minutes walking inside the Gare Montaparnasse Station to get at the hotel exit. From the hotel, it is 10 minutes walk to get Pasteur Subway station (three and 1/2 blocks)

the hotel was 5 mins walk from the Metro and was a great change for me as i stayed in a terrible hotel before this..finding the place was little tricky but then i found out that it was fairly simple...it's just that montparnasse metro is very large and it depends where you walk out..
over all it was a really nice surprise given that i booked using priceline..the service was great and they were very helpful in everything. The room was super neat and nice. if i were to go back i would prefer staying here.

My family of three stayed here for 2 nights on a bus tour of Europe. I cannot comment on the price or value since it was included in our overall package. What I can comment on is the hotel itself and location. I liked the hotel. I did not like being so far from the Metro.

This was my second time in Paris and the room was very similar to other euro-style rooms I’ve stayed in. Yes, it was small – but not too small. Myself, hubby and daughter were all quite comfortable. There was a separate tub from shower and a clever mirrored separator between the bathroom and sleeping area. I was pleasantly surprised on the room. Overall, I enjoyed the hotel. Just wish it was easier to find…..which leads me to my second comment. The location was not ideal. I found the Metro station from the hotel, but could not find the hotel from the Metro station! I was only lost one time, in 2 weeks of traveling Europe, and it was the day we tried walking back to this hotel on our own. A helpful shop owner got us in the general direction, but we ended up having to take a taxi. Not fun.

Overall, if you are familiar with the city – this would be a great choice of hotel. No complaints about the property. If you are not familiar with Paris, or do not speak French, I would advise on finding a property on a major street. That is what I will do next time.

Nice hotel, very good staff. Location is also good. It would be best that breakfast is included in all stays. Though it appears on a map that the hotel is next to Gare Montparnasse, the actual Metro is quite a walk.

Stayed here for 4 nights in August 2013. We took the metro from the Gare Du Nord and got off at Montparnasse, it took us a good 30 minutes to find the hotel and only due to a kind local who spotted us struggling with a map to find the hotel, it can be difficult to locate first time getting there.

Once we arrived though, it was no bother getting to and from both metro stations near by so I wouldn't hold this against the hotels location. On arriving we were an hour or two early before usual check in time, however they had a room ready and let us in. Staff were great, very nice and a good range of language skills including German, Spanish and English to accomodate for travellers!

Room was very clean and a good size with tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge and two complimentary bottles of water which were replaced daily. Wifi in the room was a bit touch and go but did the job, after all how long will you be using it when in Paris!

Bar and mini shop at reception were both excellent. Fairly average prices for hotel food and drink, however there is a great selection of local bars, restaurants and shops surrounding the hotel.

Was quiet and night and had not issues with noise from outside. Good sleep quality. Great value for money, only downside is distance from all the main tourist attractions but if you dont mind a short and cheap metro right its no problem!

Stayed for 2 nights in November. The service was fine, the hotel itself is fine, we got upgraded in our room as there was a wet smudge on out duvet - the upgrade was just free access to a minibar, the room was exactly the same. Breakfast is only continental which was not what my hangover self wanted. The location is good for business, less ideal for tourism but Paris being small you can still walk into the bits you want to get to - or cabs are not that expensive.
