we were there in about 25mins thanks to parisshuttle which is a great hassle-free transfer with friendly staff.
the hotel is great for a couple on a short city jaunt. Its a typical boutique environment. You stumble in through the slidy doors, off the street, into a friendly and multilingual city base to suit most europeans.
The rooms are a good size considering the 'small room' paranoia i'd experienced reading about paris. Nice comfy bed with huge windows and a bit of BBC news on the flat screen tv between going out (for us brits). The breakfast is plentiful with amazing scambled eggs and loads of pastries and cheese
coffee and yoghurt which sets you up for a days trekking.
The hotel recommended La Biche Au Bois to us as a great place to eat, round the corner. Packed to the rafters we had to wait with other diners outside for a short while, which was a good omen. We experienced a rich local french atmosphere, plenty of regulars here. We attempted our school days french, but the staff lovingly looked after us in english (ahh! bless the silly english people).
Food too good to explain, no twiddles or twirls, just the steak and frites you've always dreamed of and the biggest cheese board on earth. You need to book and it's very cosy. Simple but very effective food this cheap makes Bistro chains in the UK look like overpriced McDonalds with jus.
