As frequent stayers within the Hyatt Hotel system / gold passport members...we are utterly appalled at the condition of the room (stained carpet, bathroom smells like sewer, door will barely close, A/C non-functioning) , poor service (no wash cloths, Sent to a restaurant with no English speakers) and Super expensive $900 Euros/ 4 nights. Glass of wine=22 euros!!!! Zero charm. Very disappointed. We are in Paris for a very special occasion and now, cannot wait to leave (&. Haven't even spent the night!)

HH Don't put your name & $$ on this hotel until it meets your standards. Very misleading to your customer base. We just came from London - HR - The Churchill where we had the most wonderful & attentive service, beautiful room and delicious food. Zero comparison.

Don't ruin your trip.

Unless you are attending a conference at the Palais des Congresses, you should really avoid this one. The hotel is very old (they are planning a badly needed renovation which will take them at least two years to complete) and it shows. Hence, your situation will be: you are charged upscale market prices for a very ran down, old, dirty, smelly hotel.

I don't know where to start: stained carpets, broken furniture, cracked floors, dark, poorly lit corridors, etc.

The staff is nice and try to put a good face to the situation but even they will shrug when you make these comments to them "What can we do, you have to be patient until we finish remodeling" (actually they haven't started yet, it starts on Jan 2015).

If they were not charging upscale prices the situation would be tolerable, as you would get what you pay for, But this is not the case.

As my title says, AVOID AT ALL COST.

This hotel is located into a beautiful Shopping Mall by the Congress Palace of Paris. It is 5 mins walking from the subway station where you can travel every where in Paris. The view is Great, if you are lucky they will give you a room where Eifel Tower will shine from your bed. Excellent rooms. If you want to take a bus, the stop is right at front. The restaurant of the Hotel is no really good and is not fair to have that menu in such a nice facility. However, you have many places around.

Room Tip: Close to the best Paris landmarks

I know Hyatt is planning to upgrade this hotel, but the rooms are very old. The carpets are stained. Prices should be 50% of what they are until the upgrade. It has the potential to be a world class establishment - inquire about the status before you book.

I like Hyatt Hotels - the service & quality however I stayed here (for a second time) in 6 months - this time for 4 days on business at a conference. The Hyatt took over this hotel and said 'renovations / upgrade' was in process in 6 months i saw no move forward. Some rooms are 'renovated' although even these are getting battered and look tired (the paint on the bathroom ceiling was peeling) - old rooms (higher floors) are not nice (colleagues complained of mouldy walls in the bathroom)

The overall hotel feels like stepping back into the 70's and has not seen any modernisation since then !

The gym is basic in the extreme (even if on floor 33 with a great view over Paris - no weights of any sort)

The bar costs are extortionate (Beer & GnT = 34 Euro) - walk outside there are plenty of great bars & Tabacs around

We were in 'Congress catering' but the food was awful - unappetising , stewed and repetitive.
The breakfast was 'standard' but basic - not what you expect in a Hyatt

All in all a great location with such potential but a tired , dated hotel desperately in need of renovation. Not recommended

Room Tip: Demand a 'renovated' room

stayed 1 night for business trip. room is small but functional. missing what i would consider standard amenities such as iron & ironing board. stained carpet. air conditioning controls so old they have had the worn out original labels replaced by "+" and "-" written on in biro. cramped bathroom, with toilet roll holder placed in such a position as to compromise ability to sit on toilet! (and, before you say it, i'm average build!)

excellent views if you are on the right side of the hotel, on a high floor, and conveniently placed for access to west paris & major business districts.

essentially, this place is in need of major refurbishment (which i understand is underway?)

price for a twin room at >€200/night for a midweek stay (despite this apparently being a "special corporate rate") does not reflect good value for money, even accepting that this part of paris is notoriously expensive.

check in and check out was painfully slow, despite a relatively short queue - with all 4 available reception staff appearing to need to deal with 1 guest.

would not recommend. given 2 stars based on view and location alone.
