“La Boheme”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

Temporary exhibit with no clear cut purpose.
The theme starts with gypsies through the ages then morphs into mid XIX century artists viewing themselves as bohemians.
The very artificial theme which is not really concerned with any artistic movement, although a smattering of master pieces including a da Vinci attempt to draw the crowds.
A disapointment altogether

“Phone to get free disabled parking. Very helpful :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

The Edward Hopper exhibition is not to be missed! Hurry - ends end of Jan 2013. If you are disabled be sure to phone the museum 24 hours in advance. They can reserve an underground parking place for you ( entrance B)It might be possible to do this on the day that you go if they have room. If you accompany a disabled person you will both get in free and will access the museum at entrance B so you don't have to queue. They are very happy to help you with the wheelchair access which is tricky. It is not their fault as they are not allowed to alter the historical monument. However they will guide you to the lifts and escort you as needs be - all of this is done with a smile :)
There are about 4 disabled parking places outside the museum too.
There are a couple of cafés where you can eat in the museum but it's quite pricey.

“A bit disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

Went to the exhibit "La boheme" which was great. Unfortunately no more tickets for Hopper. Didn't have an opportunity to actually visit the premises of the Grand Palais as it's going through major renovation. The outside however, is absolutely magnificent. Well worth the visit, even if you can't get it.

“Book tickets in advance”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

Great exhibitions are presented here: I visited the Hopper exhibitions, that was much better than the Madrid Thyssen Bornemisza. Try to book tickets in advance, and do not bring anything that you must leave in the Consigne: there are always huge queues

“No organisation”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

The Art-Show of Mr. Hopper (US) is fantastish but the envirement an desaster. The visitors have 2 problems: Check in after a long line at the entree gate-, again 35 min for the wardrobe and again by check out at the wardrobe with 40min. A lack of amployees and a not effectife system of there behaivior. Last but not least, the cafe and restaurant is not the reference for
the typical good french cussine. The visit time 4h. One hour to get in, one hour to get out....
