This was a short break and as most people know, when you travel to Paris, you don't really spend too much time in your hotel room as your out enjoying yourself.
The title of this review is exactly that. The hotel is situated 8 mins walk from Gare du Nord or right next to Gare du L'est. There is a Metro station right outside the hotel door so your route to anywhere in Paris is excellent, so great location.
The hotel is a little dated all over, the staff are friendly, they don't say much but friendly.
The offer of a shuttle back to CDG airport was offered, even though it was more expensive than getting the train back or Air France shuttle from the Champs-Elysees.
The quadruple room we had was on the 6th floor, which was the top floor. The lift was only to the 5th floor, the lift also is very very very very small and tight fit, only 3 persons max so if you have luggage, its a relay job, so you had to carry cases to the next level and the stairs were.. how shall I say ummm a little slanted.....
The room was ok, it was what I expected no frills but practical. We had a TV, and free hotel wifi with 4 single beds. The bathroom was basic and again the décor was dated, (bidet included) the room only had a shower and this was not attached to the wall as the holder was broken, but it was not a problem.
The view from the room was marvellous as to the right we had Sacre Coeur and the Eiffel Tower to the left. It is a very busy street outside and as such there is noise all day and all night, but its muted if you have the windows closed, but sometimes you want the window open as there is a faint smell of smoke from the rooms.
The beds were clean as were the sheets, but there was no fresh smell after the room had been made.
All over the hotel also there was a faint smell of smoke in the air.
As a whole I would recommend this hotel if you want great access and are only looking for an affordable room with adequate services.
We never used the breakfast facility even though this was included, we ate out each morning, with the best being the café to the left when you walk out the hotel "Ville de Provins" this is just on the corner and was fantastic with great friendly staff.
We had a great time and the hotel did not put a downer on this at all.
I hope this helps anyone who is looking to go to Paris.
