After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, we chose the Hotel Champ du Mars for our stay in Paris, July 17-21. Our family of 5 booked one double room and one triple room. As mentioned in previous reviews, the rooms are very small. They are, however, comfortable, nicely decorated and spotless. This was one of the few hotels I would actually consider soaking in the bathtub because it was sparkling clean. The staff worked hard to accommodate any requests we made, but they were not inclined to strike up a conversation with us unless we approached them first. That was fine with us as we are quite independent. The location is great once you are settled in, but it is a difficult trek from the airport. We were 5 people with 6 suitcases. We opted for the subway which required 3 trains. All in all it was 4 hours from the time we landed until the time we walked in the door of the hotel. Perhaps we should have just paid the 125Euro to take a private shuttle and saved ourselves the trouble of hauling so many bags up and down the stairs of the subway. Try to avoid room 21 because the illuminated hotel sign outside the window means the room is bright as day when you are trying to sleep. For the money, I would stay here again.
