This hotel is the perfect place for anyone who wants a great value and a true taste of life in Paris. One of the great advantages of the hotel is the location. It is right next to many great restaurants and shops on Rue Cler as well as many nearby streets. The metro station is only about six short blocks away, and the Eiffel Tower is a 10-15 minute walk.
The rooms are each individually decorated and very well finished. The beds are comfortable with nice soft sheets, and there is a good WiFi signal in the rooms. They are smaller, but this is typical for how many people live in Paris. However, the rooms are all updated and modern while keeping a very quaint, Parisian feel. We were fortunate to have a room on the top floor so we had a great view of Eiffel Tower as well. My father stayed in a room down the hall, and his room was equally as nice, but he had a view of the courtyard. His room was a little quieter though since it did not have any noise from the street below. In addition, the breakfast was convenient with decent coffee and good breads even if it was slightly more expensive than what you could get just outside the door in the nearby restaurants.
Yet, despite all of its charm and value, this hotel is not for every traveler. We were fortunate to come on a cool week in August, but I imagine the rooms could hot during a heat wave since only open windows and fans are used to keep them cool. All the rooms do have heat though, so this is only something to consider during the warmer months. Also, we were able to fit two large pieces of luggage and two carry ons as well as my 6'8" frame and my wife's 5'9" into the room, but we would pressed to fit anything else in the room. If you need a great deal of space, this is not the place for you. Also, if you are claustrophobic, you will not like the elevator/lift. The only other issue with the hotel is that the service varied widely. The owners are amazing and very kind and outgoing. However, the two gentleman who helped fill in the front desk when they were not around were not horrible, but they were not helpful.
Considering all of the great things and some of the challenges, I would definitely stay there again. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a true taste of life in Paris and favors value, location, and charm over space and extra amenities like a gym or business center.
