“Good spot in Montparnasse”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

Fred is a well-run modern hotel on a slightly crumbling street in Montparnasse. The rooms are smallish... ie usual for Paris -- but comfortable. Our only reservation was the close WC and shower... sometimes more wet feet than we needed. The 12.50 euro breakfast is excellent... the best we've had anywhere. Staff are friendly & helpful. Fairly pricey unless you book ahead, when the rates seem to fall off.

So glad we chose this hotel. It was excellent, from the welcome to the service to the rooms. Nothing was too much to ask.
My daughters and I stayed in the larger deluxe room. It was well furnished with a coffee machine, power shower, nice art on the wall, good lighting, flat screen tv,really comfortable beds and to the girls delight, free WiFi.

The staff were friendly and helpful but also unobtrusive. For us the only downside, if that, was the breakfast. It needed to have a wider variety and we couldn't figure out the correct way to boil our eggs in the do it yourself egg cooker.

All in all, highly recommended. We'll be back.

Thank you.

Dear Selina O,

We really hope that you and your girls had a safe trip back home.

We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay in Paris, the location of our hotel, the confort of our rooms, the beds, the cleanliness, & the free WIFI !!
Thank you as well for complimenting our staff, this will be a wonderful source of motivation for all of them.
About the breakfast: As you know we only serve fresh products to our guests for breakfasts: freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit salad, fresh bread and croissants, …I am however very concerned by your constructive remarks regarding the variety and the egg cooker. Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention, they will help us to improve our quality to the level you would expect from our hotel.
We hope to be able to welcome you back soon at Fred Hotel.
Looking forward to that occasion,
Yours sincerely,

I had a 3 night stay in Paris at FRED Hotel.I was amazed to witness the high quality of services and facilities at this hotel. The rooms were excellent and the hotel has spent so much money in equipment to upgrade lighting in the rooms and particularly in the toilets.Extremely comfortable beds and a high quality TV with so many channels forced me to be up till late in the nights.
Wide selection of restaurents around the hotel with a choice of food makes FRED Hotel a pleasent place to stay. The sorroundings are excellent with the Metro few meters away makes it very easy to discover the attractions in Paris. When you see this hotel from outside you dont realise how modern it is......however when you are inside the hotel it is completely a different world with a great atmosphere .Fred Hotel is a fine place to stay in Paris and I will always make sure to spend more time with the friendly people at FRED.

Dear Steven,

It is such a pleasure to start the day with your amazing return of your stay with us at Fred Hotel.

We are happy to read that you had a pleasant stay with us and that our services and facilities met your approval. We pay indeed extra attention to every single details in our hotel: decoration, cleanliness, layout in the rooms, toiletries, …to maintain the welcoming and cosy atmosphere our guests like. Moreover our staff is always happy to answer any questions our guests might have, so that their stay is as enjoyable as possible.

So thank you so much for your kind comments regarding our team members, we will definitely share your compliments with them. All our team takes great pride in service delivery and they will be very happy to hear your positive comments.

Fred Hotel is indeed very well located. Metro line 13 is only several minutes walk from the Hotel and takes you to many touristic spots like the Champs Elysées, Eiffel Tower or the big malls. Many of our guests prefer also Fred Hotel for the intimate qualities of the neighbourhood with little Bistrots, bars, cheese shops, and the market twice a week.

We really hope to welcome you, your family and friends back in the near future.

Warm regards from Paris

Hotel and rooms are clean and trendy furnished. Beds are queen size (a bit small). It is close to the metro station and is within walking distance to many good cafes and restaurants in Montparnasse. Breakfast selection is small. Eat outside instead.
We were a group staying in all 3 types of roomstandards that the hotell offered (classic, superiour and luxury).
The classic room was very small and is ok for young couples. The best alternative is the superiour. Here you get a bit larger room. If you can afford paying 30% more than the classic room you will get the luxury room, which definately is the best choice for families with small children. In this room you can get an extra bed free of charge. We stayed 2 adults and 2 children in the luxury room and space was still ok. The bathroom is large, lots of toiletries, rainshower. LED - Cable TV, large wardrobe and office desk.
Pluss for exclusive toiletries, in-room safe, good mattress, ease and free wifi.
The hotel staff is very friendly and helpfull. They are attentive and serviceminded. They also had lots of information about good restaurants and what to do in Paris. The staff is definately one of the hotel's uniqueness.

Room Tip: Choose the luxury room if you are travelling with children (ask for free extra bed)

Dear Guest

Many thanks for your gracious feedback!

Thank you very much for sharing your impressions with us! It is a great honour to see that a very frequent traveller like you enjoyed our hotel and services.

We do have 3 different types of rooms, with different sizes as well. Have a look on our website where several photos are available .

We hope that when you come back to Fred Hotel you will taste our buffet breakfast. We only serve fresh products to our guests : freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit salad, fresh bread and croissants…

The location of our hotel is indeed really convenient with metro line 13 in 3 minutes walk for the Hotel. Our guests can therefore easily discover Paris during the day, and come back to a quieter place in the evening to relax. Moreover, there are countless restaurants and bistros in the neighborhood.

Last but not least thank you as well for complimenting our staff, this will be a wonderful source of motivation for all of them.

Looking forward to receive you and your family and friends again at Fred Hotel.
Yours sincerely,

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel away from the hustle and bustle of touristy Paris. Two metro stations (Plaisance or Pernety) within walking distance and only a few minutes train ride to main tourist areas. Monoprix supermarket at end of street and numerous restaurants and Cafes to choose from. Our Room was well appointed, very clean & modern. Several Laundromats close by. Staff very friendly and helpful when required. Wireless Internet was accessible from our room, which we found is not always the case, even when some hotels advertise it. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, preferring to try the numerous cafes within the area. If traveling to Paris in the future we would definitely stay again.

Nice hotel, looks small from the outside but is very efficiently designed from the inside. Small rooms, with modern design. Don't expect overwhelming space in this hotel. Good quality of beds, friendly staff and clean rooms. Good value for money; the only thing we missed was a minibar.
