Small room, no AC. Standing shower too small you will bump into the walls. Housekeeper doesn't know what DND means, even if you leave it outside your door, they will still enter the room. There's a steep staircase going to the tiny lobby, so imagine if you are a lady carrying a heavy suitcase! I also cant understand why you have to leave your room key to the front desk eveytime you go out. My advise, stay outside the city and go for the branded ones, room rate will be the same but you'll get back what you paid for.

We stayed here at the same time last year, and were well impressed, came back again this year and brought some friends too. We had room 42. The hotel is basic, and clean, and you have to negotiate the steps at the front of the hotel, but that's about it - it's in a great location by the RER and metro, right in the thick of the hustle and bustle of Paris - yes it's noisy but the sound proofing is great, and a decent sized room and good value for money for the price, especially as Paris standards go ( and I've stayed in a lot worse for a lot more) - hopefully we will be back again next year......

Clean, convenient, and quiet, that is all I needed -- who needs to spend any time in a hotel room in Paris? I stayed twice, a week apart, and it was fine. Nothing fantastically great, but it was clean, quiet, and sufficient. I was in two singles: 64 and 81. 64 was sightly bigger but had one of those hand-held showers in a tub (i.e. the bathroom floor gets wet and it is harder to wash your hair). 81 had a full, albeit small, shower. Soap and shampoo is barely provided, so I suggest bringing your own. Still, the location (if coming by Metro, exit at the General LeClerc Ave. exit and the hotel entrance is right before the McDonald's) is very convenient. The Metro, # 38 and 68 buses (and others), the ORLY BUS and the RER train from DeGaulle airport ALL stop there. Also, the neighborhood is nice: the boulangerie around the corner, called Paul (on the way to the RER station) is in the book "The Best Bakeries in Paris", the one across the street (Au Naturel) is great, and the restaurants and Monoprix are all good too. One caveat : guest registration is up a floor, which you have to carry your suitcase up, and it is 25 stairs. If you are not traveling light, you will not like this.

From the outside it didn't look that great. After the first door a narrow flight of stairs not promised anything good, instead...
The room (I was at the 8th floor) big enough, very clean, with a pleasant scent and a super view of Paris.
The breakfast was not worth the price and after a first taste I opted for the MC Cafe' (McDonald's) which is situated very close to the hotel.
Great location to move, metro and RER B very close, catacombs at 100m.
Just a little problem: the bath tub is without tent and then the bathroom floor tends to fill with water.

Room Tip: At the highest floor you can see a very good panorama of Paris

Nice hotel, good central location, near train and metro station. Would stay here again. You do have one flight of stairs to bring your bags up to get to the lobby. From there the elevator is available up to the rooms.
Clean, and friendly staff.

I spent several days at the tidy Hotel du Lion, right around the corner from the Denfert-Rochereau Station and the RER B, and Paris Metro 6 and 4 lines. It's a great overnight if you're coming or going from either Orly or Charles de Gaulle airports, which are both served directly from this station.

The Catacombs, with their incredible geological display is right across the square, along with plenty of green space, and the Rue Daguerre markets.

Like many European hotels, Lion is a single flight up from the sidewalk, and is tidy and modern with tall windows that open onto the street. The staff is efficient and friendly, and accommodated my broken French/English with grace. They use modern key cards that also control the electricity, and the housekeeping staff did an impeccable job.

My only complaint was an automatic light on the stairwell, once inside the hotel, which was sluggish and left me climbing in the dark on my first night. That was repaired by my second night. I didn't eat breakfast in, rather choosing a cafe directly across the street where I could sit in the sunshine and sip my cafe au lait.

From this location, I easily traveled by foot and Metro all over Paris. I'd stay there again. I am a solo traveler, and felt quite comfortable in the neighborhood.

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper, check with them to see if they have rooms away from the street. It...

We arrived at Orly airport and the hotel is conveniently located for the or,y airport bus (which takes 30 mins or so). We had a triple room which was just about big enough for the three of us. Clean bathroom and comfortable beds. Paris hotels are notoriously pricey but we thought this was good value!
