“Great location! except for the noise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

Stayed here on a friend's recommendation and she was spot on. GREAT location, nice hotel, great value. We stayed in a room with 2 beds right above a restaurant and unfortunately it was quite loud until well into the wee hours. Closing the windows helped some with the noise, but then it got oppressively hot because the small portable air conditioner didn't really do much. It was more of a small fan. This is really a very small hotel. No concierge or anything and we didn't really ask much of the staff as they always seemed to be on the phone. They were helpful once with a question about a bus. We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel so I can't comment on that. No one to help with luggage and the stairs are NARROW and winding, but we managed. I would certainly recommend this place, as long as you know what to expect.

Room Tip: Try not to be above the restaurant around the back

We were unable to access wifi for 5 days at Hotel de Suez, not even once did we manage to browse. There were up to five wifi links of the hotel when scanning for an available connection. Though we often made a connection on one of the five, we were never able to download and access web sites, mails etc - both in our room and in the lobby area. Very disappointing indeed. In fact, we found very very few places in Paris where wifi was available to guests at restaurants or bars. Come on France, this is 2014.

But this small hotel has three good things: location, location and location. It's on Boulevard Saint-Michel in the 5th arrondissement and 5-10 minutes from the latin quarter, Seine River, lots and lots of bars, cafes and restaurants. And up the road the amazing Luxembourg Palace and Gardens. A bus stop is just outside the hotel and the metro only 100 meters down the road. We soon started to use the bus, instead of the metro, to avoid the long walks from platform to platform but perhaps more in order to enjoy the sights and people as the bus made its way to our destination.

The breakfast is served in your room, recommended by the hotel as the lobby area is extremely small and with just a few tables. The breakfast is as French as it can be: coffee, milk, croissant and baquette.

There is no aircondition in the room so it was pretty hot as the temperature outside reached 29 degrees. An electric fan helped a bit. We had a room facing the street so at nights we kept the door/window closed because of the noise.

Room Tip: If you keep the window closed, a room facing the street is OK. The problem is during the warm summer...

My mum and I stayed here 7 nights in July 2014. Nice, clean, comfortable rooms. Friendly staff, nice breakfast. Hot shower, loads of towels. Fridge on request. Very close to metro/RER, easy to reach from the airport. Supermarket across the street. Nice neighbourhood. Couldn't have asked or more. It was perfect:)

Located near latin quarters, and 900 meters to Notre Dame it is a place we would go back to. Room was big enaugh, quite and clean. Internet worked pretty good. Nice thing is that for no extra charge you can get the breakfast to the room, good idea after late nights!
Thank you for the stay.

Our trip was business combined with pleasure, so what decided the hotel for us was the fact that us three adults could share a room, which facilitated discussion. The room was comfortable with very comfortable beds and a clean bathroom. Being right on the Boulevard Saint Michel meant that the location is conveniently central. Breakfast was standard, but delicious, with very friendly service. The front desk was helpful when we needed some assistance. There was nothing that detracted from a very enjoyable stay. We would certainly opt to stay there again.

Room Tip: The fact that three adults can share a room makes it very good value for money.

Remote didn't work and light bulb over bed burnt out. Couldn't get me a taxi on short notice in the morning. Adequate but not much to get enthused about. The location is a strong asset - very near metro and Notre Dame on the Left Bank.

Postive things: The staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean and good space for the price. Location and price: perfect!
Not too positive: Rooms are a little noisy and Wi Fi didn't work. This should be fixed.
