“Hotel de Suez”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012

This 2 star hotel is a gem. The staff is outstanding. The room was somewhat spacious for Paris, cheery, and spotless. The bed was comfortable! The petit dejeuner was a bargain, as was the room. The windows of our room opened onto Boulevard Saint-Michel with a lovely and lively Parisian view. When the windows were shut, I could hear absolutely no noise. We do not spend much time in a hotel when we travel, so location is everything. The bus stop for 21, 27, 38, and 85 is located right in front of Hotel de Suez with other bus stops nearby. An ATM is 8 steps from the hotel’s door and a mini-mart is next door. Boulevard Saint-Germain is 2 blocks way, the Seine 3 blocks. Restaurants abound, with Brasserie Balzar just around the corner. Jardin du Luxembourg is 2 blocks away. The cross pollination of a comfortable and cozy hotel with a neighborhood that is loaded with so many enticing attractions and convenient services is ideal. Looking forward to my next visit.

Came here with two friends and took a triple room. We expected a dinky and cramped room but were pleasantly surprised by the spacious room with good lighting and big bathroom. Considering how much we paid for it for the weekend and the location - 5 mins walk from Notre Dame and access to all transport... it is definitely worth the stay!!!! More for short stays though.... Oh and the old receptionist at night was really nice and gave us tips on places to visit! :)

My husband and I stayed at Hotel de Suez for 2 nights. The people at the front desk were very helpful and spoke English very well. The room was on the small side but, for the price of being centrally located, it could not be beat. We payed the extra for the breakfast in the morning which was well worth it. Would recommend someone to stay there.

Typical parisian room.. small but complete.. great outdoor balcony, good price. was traveling to Hendaye where I was going to catch a cab to Pamplona for the Festival.. and was arriving late in the evening. the front desk staff found a hotel within walking distance from the train station then phoned the owner to see if she would keep the reception area open when we arrived at 11:30 at night. The hotel is 3 blocks from Notre Dame Cathedral.

Just returned from a 4 night stay, hotel was recommended by the lady who rented us a gite in Brittany, it is where she and her french husband stay in Paris. For a Paris hotel, room and bathroom were spacious, and we loved the in-room breakfast each morning for 5.95E! Our 2 little girls ordered by phone (in french) each morning and enjoyed cartoons on tv while we had coffee and planned the day. We bought lunch supplies & wine at a nearby shop & set out for the day. If we go back, I'd rent a bike in the alley and ride the short distance to Luxembourg gradens w the kids.

I stayed here on my own for 3 nights while in paris. the location is great its close to everything. so many different places to get a drink or food. I didnt expect much from the room. it was small but clean. the bathroom needs a update but its live able. staff is really friendly expect for the one woman who works the desk. it seems she is only interested in being pleasant to french speakers or males...but everyone else was fantastic. There was issues with the wi fi and trying to connect to it. first day I couldnt get on and literally had to leave my computer on until it could finally connect up. its nice having the free wi fi in your room when its working. one thing that is odd is before you go out you have to give the desk people your room key.

location was good but this may not be the place when your travelling alone and wanting to meet others around your age. Im 22 and found this hotel was mostly people over the age of 40. nothing wrong with that but i would have liked a hotel with maybe a lobby area where you could have a drink and not feel like everyone is keeping a eye on you.

getting here is easy if you are coming from the paris nord train station. one train and your here but with a little bit of a 5 min walk but its not bad. 100 euros a night i paid, seems like the cheapest for the area without having to resort to a hostel.

over all its not bad depending on your age. you get what you pay for. location was great and the room was clean and thats good enough for me.

they also have a shuttle service and will call for you to book it 26 euros if your by yourself, 18 if you are travelling with others.
