“What a GEM!.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

My 3rd trip to Paris and found this hotel after researching trip advisor. Nestled behind the streets close to shopping and easy walk to Notre Dame , Pompidou centre , Germain quarter and the river seine, this recently renovated hotel was exceptional. Tastefully decorated with quality fittings, this was much better than expected. The staff were so helpful with any requests and always had a smile to greet you (day/night). 10 mins walk to the Louvre and easy walking to most of the places listed above. The breakfast bar was amazing with plenty of choice. Rooms were cleaned meticulously and every day. Looking forward to staying here again on my next trip.

The room was very confortable and clean, but the location is the top, right on the heart of the city
and a few steps to Chatelet metro station, that connects with a several lines around Paris. The staff also was very helpfull. In my opinion, this hotel is highly recommended for families with children and for those that looking for a strategic place to explore the entire Paris. In a few minutes you can reach praticaly all famous places and alternative places too, like Promenae Planté, Jardin D'Aclimatacion, St. Denis, Bois De Vincennes, Parc Asterix and many other atractions.

Room Tip: Ask for a triple room.

We stayed at the Hotel Louvre Rivoli for two nights and it was our first of three hotels we will stay while visiting France (it was our first time). We stayed at two 3 star hotels (this being one of them) and one 5 star hotel. This is the hotel we will be returning to on our next visit. Rationale: 1) SERVICE was excellent - Laurent welcomed us to Paris, helped give us an overview of the area, and he made us feel at home. 2) CLEAN - Our room was so well clean and updated as was the hotel. I think they are almost done with some renovations (there were some tarps in the lobby that led me to believe this). 3) LOCATION - the best jumping off point for all of Paris. 1.5 blocks from the river, 2 blocks to the Louvre, 6-7 minute walk to Notre Dame, 5 minutes to Latin Quarter, and 8 minute walk to the "Soho" of Paris (The Marais Area). We were on our honeymoon and this hotel was perfect for what we were looking for. The best way to decribe this hotel for us is a very nice Hampton Inn. They have the best in the basics (hairdryer, hot water, etc).

Room Tip: Choose a room on the first or second levels - its quicker to take the stairs plus the elevators aren...

I've been staying at the hotel Louvre Rivoli in Paris for about ten years now and on each occasion their have been improvements to either the rooms or the facilities. This year a new breakfast bar downstairs has greatly improved the early morning experience with a small child in tow. The reception area was also being re carpeted while we were there. The management seems to be constantly aware of the need to keep the hotel bright and fresh, it's almost unrecognisable from a decade ago. We had a great holiday , as always the staff were kind and friendly and we will be staying there again next year.

This hotel may not be 5 star given the price we paid for two nights... It was clean....rooms reasonable size (we had the triple room which was ideal ) with the facilities you need and was a great base....we view a room for sleeping, washing and changing .... Our aim was to explore paris ...not to spend protracted times in the room.....as long as its clean and presentable.... 8 mins from notre dame, the louvre, a stones throw from the seine, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly...the chap on the reception when we booked in gave us loads of useful tips about the area...nothing was too much trouble...... Downside ...a little bit of street noise and no air conditioning...it was a hot and humid couple of days... I would recommend it as a good central family or Freind base....not a romantic retreat...

Hotel was in an excellent location. A block to the Seine River. Tons of shopping a couple blocks away. Great cafes with excellent food just steps away from the hotel. Close to many major Paris attractions. Cross the bridge over the Seine a couple of blocks away to get to the Latin Quarter of Paris. Room was clean but small which was expected. Only complaint was the sewage gases coming from the shower drain. We had to open the window to air out the room from the awful smell every day. Would give five stars if the room did not smell bad.

The cellar was being renovated, so the breakfast was in a nook in the lobby. It was a good effort, and I am sure that normally it is better, but the breakfast was mainly pastry, jam, and some meats and cheeses (that you had to fight over with other guests). I always felt like we were being 'watched' and like we were messing the place up! But it was a small nook with many hungry guests!

In addition, the receptionist either forgot to order our taxi and was lying about it, or ordered it incorrectly. We barely made it in time for our flight back to LAX.

Now for the praise: great room and decor. Great location. We LOVED it!

Room Tip: Go to the hotel's homepage when booking for major savings. It was less there than on the travel...
