“Perfect for paris”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

The Alane hotel is in great walking distance from metro lines at gare de l'est.(about 1min) and 5mins from guar de nord. Plenty restaurants around. Shop round the corner for extras.
Hotel itself is perfect for a sightseeing break in paris. Room not massive but all Paris hotels are like this for this budget. Room clean enough. Not perfect but totaly liveable. Maid fantastic tidyed our room every day (she even cleaned my hairbrush!!) there 3 days had towels changed twice. Bathroom big enough. Breakfast ok basic continental. Fills you up for the day. And when you see prices around you know it's worth the money. (Mcds 2 doors up if ur still hungry)
Staff lovely and all very pleasant and happy to help.
Stayed in another hotel in Paris 2 years ago but would say this was so much better. Would recommend to a friend.

An ideal little hotel for a short stop-over. The price is reasonable for a major city, with a friendly guy on the reception desk who spoke reasonable English. It was pleasing to note that he had a good knowledge to draw on for how to get about, and made available a free map.

Really is a case of what you pay for is what you get here, and if you are in Paris, you would prefer to be out than admiring a hotel room.

Breakfast was available as an extra.

This little hotel is just around the corner from Gare de Nord - the Eurostar train station and Gare de 'Lest - so a handy stopping off point. Some great restaurants nearby, and an area of Paris that was not overly busy in terms of traffic,

A great little Boulangerie is just behind the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room off the main street

Cheap place and cheap accommodations. You get what you pay for here. Small rooms, dark hallways, etc., but it's not bad for a budget traveler. It's right next to 2 of Paris' biggest train stations-Gare du Nord and Gare de Lest so the location is pretty good.

Really liked my stay in Hotel Alane in Paris. The rooms albeit small were very were newly furnished and functional. The shower was great. The hotel seems slightly short staffed and there is no room service at all. The breakfast was limited, but a lot of eating options around. The staff seemed friendly and spoke english.

The location is fantastic between 2 main stations Gare du Nord and Gare d'Lest to thorugh which you are well connected to any part of Paris by Metro. For the price its great value. I would go back again

Room Tip: Rooms of the 5th floor are newly furnished. Family should look for rooms on 6th Floor.

Not really what we expected, rooms were very small. we could also hear the room next door, we knew when they were in the toilet or having a shower which wasn't very pleasant, also wasn't very knowing that they could probably hear the same. although the room wasn't up to scratch the hotel staff were very friendly/helpful and spoke english very well.

Having seen other reviews I think it's unfair to mark this hotel down on the criteria that would judge a much more expensive hotel. The rooms are admittedly small but you still have everything you need: safe, wardrobe, desk, bedside tables, flat screen on the wall and a very nice new bathroom. All kept very clean and why do you need a massive room when you're in Paris and most probably spending all your time out and about.
We chose this hotel for a reason and that is something with good transport links around the city to sightsee, if I wanted to spend a holiday in a big fancy hotel I would be on a beach somewhere hot not in Paris.
You have a metro station 2 mins walk away, gard l'est the same.
Main sights are minutes away, Louvre 5 mins, Eiffel 20 mins, moulin rouge 10 mins, notre dame 10 mins. What more do you want for the money.
Judge this hotel as what it is a very reasonably priced base for a fantastic holiday to Paris.

We stayed three nights at the Hotel Alane. The price was good and the room was clean, but very small, which is to be expected in Paris. The staff was generally helpful and spoke English. But the neighborhood surrounding the hotel was disappointing -- that said, it was just a 5-minute walk to the Gare de L'est train stop, which has service to many lines and was very handy. We much preferred other neighborhoods such as the Latin Quarter and Ste. Germain, and opted to spend the rest of our trip in those areas.
