I also do not understand why there are so many bad reviews about this hotel, and by my own admission I would say that I am fussy! I was really happy overall with my stay and cant believe i have not vistited Paris sooner....This is in an excellent location, away from the middle of Paris that is ridiculously busy, but close enough to reach all of the major attractions. There are some excellent tips on below reviews that I agree with and recommend having done it myself. The air shuttle bus from CDG airport is recommended, takes you to a bus stop literally 5 minutes down the road from the hotel and picks you up from the same place to go back to the airport. The Train station (Gare Montparnasse) is just a little further down from here. If you go downstairs this takes you to the metro where you can purchase tickets (buying 10 is cheaper) and you can easily get to all the major attractions in Paris within minutes. The metro is hot and generally busy! but, I felt very safe even at midnight. The buskers on the metro are generally 'legit' ones but be vigilant on and around the metro for pick pockets (who generally are not French....) you will find eating and drinking in Paris expensive, but there is a good supermarket across the road from the hotel that we used, and the hotel even opened bottles of wine for us with no charge. The hotel rooms are not huge, but they are more than adequate and the bed/pillows are very comfortable. The rooms very clean and the hotel in general is very clean. The breakfast buffet I found very sufficient if you enjoy a continental breakfast. I was slightly disappointed that we could not eat in the restaurant and had to go downstairs to a room with no windows, I don't know why this is the case, but I found the staff to be really friendly and were always replenishing the food items. The reception staff are excellent, I don't know why people have commented that they were rude as I never found this. I found Marie to be particularly helpful. They spoke excellent English and made good recommendations for attractions to visit, explained the metro and which lines to use, and were always available. The only issue we had was regarding the air conditioning......yes, the hotel was very hot and this disturbed and interrupted my sleep each night. If you have a room high up in the hotel, I suggest asking for a fan as they did supply us with one which cooled us down. Generally not many establishments in Paris have a/c and this week was unusually hot for Paris, but the hotel does boast that it has controlled a/c and this was not the case. It seems the hotel is not being completely honest about the problem - i don't know whether this is broken or just how the a/c is? To be fair one of the reviews while we were in the hotel mentioned this problem and the hotel commented that the a/c can be controlled in the rooms! It cannot as i stayed in their room! This incensed me so much that I took the review to reception on the iPad and asked for them to move us to a room where this is the case! We were upgraded to a room on the 2nd floor that was cooler and the Manager was very helpful, but I still don't know what the real problem is.....however now that the temperature is coming down in Paris I don't expect this to be too much of a problem. Overall I was still very satisfied with my stay, and would definitely recommend and return to this hotel in the future. I also recommend if you do any tours to do these early on, and book tickets in advance for the Eiffel Tower, Versailles, Louvre etc to avoid the queues - I have never seen queues like the ones in Paris, people queuing literally for 3-4 hours to get in some places!! I loved Paris and enjoyed my stay at Concorde Montparnasse.

Dear Vicki B,

Thank you for your friendly comment concerning your stay at the Hotel Concorde Montparnasse and your advices to travellers. It’s a pleasure to know you appreciated the professional behavior of our teams and the Hotel location which offers many possibilities for eating, shopping or visiting. As you mentioned there was an unusual weather in France and especially in Paris, thus our AC was extremely craved, I am sorry for this inconvenient. I am happy that you enjoyed the breakfast buffet offering a large selection of fresh products.
It would be an honor to welcome you back again.
