We were in Paris for a long weekend, and did more than our fair share of eating – and I can safely say that Strada was up there with the best!
We visited on Saturday morning (with some mild hangovers), and were so well looked after! The Strada club sandwiches were to die for – perfect flavours and a really good portion size, with a lovely fresh salad and a mound of yummy crisps. The coffees were delicious, and just what the doctor ordered. We had a Latte and an iced coffee, and both were lovely. And the Lemon Meringue Pie we had for dessert? Out of this world.
Even better than the food and drinks, though, were the service and the atmosphere. We felt welcome and looked after from the moment we walked in, and there was a lovely, relaxed feel to the place. There seemed to be a good mix of customers from all different corners of the globe, and the staff were happy to speak to us in either English or French. Although I’d made a vow to speak as much French as possible that weekend, in my slightly fuzzy state I was happy to be able to order in English and be 100% sure of what we were going to get! (My French is rusty to say the least…).
The guy who served us (Liam, if memory serves) was really lovely, and made some great recommendations for places to go and things to see – we were so glad of his advice, as we only had three days to see as much of Paris as possible. The only reason we didn’t go back here for brunch on the Sunday was that we wanted to try as many different places as possible. And we wished we’d stuck with what we knew, as the place we went to instead wasn’t a patch on Strada.
