Small, well-maintained hotel located almost at the confluence of the Boulevards Saint Germain and Saint Michel, in the bustling and explosive buzz of the Latin Quarter.
The rooms have all the basic comforts of a 3 star hotel (air conditioning, soundproofing, minibar, good mattress). The staff is friendly and helpful, especially Mr. LEO.
The Rue de La Harpe is full of small restaurants, crêperies, candy stores, mini-market.You can walk to the Notre Dame, Luxembourg Gardens, Pantheon, banks of the Seine and a multitude of other places. There are 2 metro stations, a train station and bus stops for almost every neighborhood of Paris 100 m from the hotel
This hotel without luxuries or frills is my house in Paris.

It was a quiet refuge in a noisy and crowded big city.
The room was small, but one is in Paris; it was very clean, very quiet, and it is in a great location. The air conditioning worked perfectly.
The street where the hotel is located is crowded with poor quality restaurants and souvenir shops, but it is not a problem. The metro is very close.
I would stay there again.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for your nice review .

Please note every room of the hotel is different, we can arrange bigger rooms as well on request , if they are vacant .

We can help you find a better restaurant if the ones around the hotel do not look nice to you.

Anyway, the most important thing to know is that you would love to stay again, in our hotel, and we will be happy to see you for your next trip in Paris, as soon as you can.

Best regards.

A very comfortable and friendly stay in the heart of Paris. Walking distance to all major attractions and convenient for metro stations as well as direct access by train from Charles de Gaulle airport.
Rooms of a good size for Paris and a great lounge to rest or read.

Dear Sir or Madam,

We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay , particularly our busy and lively area.

As it is very convenient to get access to major tourist attractions and public transport.

Going from the hotel straight to Charles de Gaulle airport, is appreciated both by tourists or business travellers .

And of course, our lounge where you can relax after a long tiring day .

Please call again if you decide to come to Paris

Best regards

I stayed at Hotel du Levant on the advice of a friend and it was an excellent recommendation. The only issue I had is the taxi they arranged for back to the airport did not take credit cards as I specifically requested. It's doesn't have all the "ammenities" of a 5 star hotel but it's just as good in my opinion. Clean, nicely decorated rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. It is in the heart of the Latin Quarter and walking distance to many sights with easy access to RER and Metro. Free breakfast is a nice plus. Since it is right in the middle of lots of restaurants, there is a lot of street noise that might turn off some people but it didn't bother me. Would definitley stay again if I ever return to Paris.

Room Tip: If noise is a concern, you might ask for a room that doesn't face the street but it might not ha...

Dear Sir or Madam ,

Thank you for your very nice review and thank you to your friend who recommended our hotel .

We are sorry about the inconvenience caused about the taxi that didn't accept credit cards
We should have specified this request beforehand to the cab company , they would have arranged a car accordingly.

Anyway, the most important is that you enjoyed your stay, we do hope to see you again in our hotel.

Please note it is possible to book quiet rooms as well , now it's your turn to spread the word

Best regards

WE spent the month of June in France and wanted to spend our last 4 nights in Paris but for first timers, "where to stay?" We decided the Latin Quarter was a busy place but a good spot for a first trip. We sifted through multiple hotels and found many fully booked including the du Levant. BUT the Paris tourism web site showed rooms available so we booked though them and it turned out to be a wise move, we loved the hotel.

I've read about Paris hotel rooms being large closets but that was not the case, our room had a king bed, night stands and even a chair and ottoman and desk and chair. The bath was also nice size. Our room had big windows opening to an inner courtyard which was the interior of a full city block.

Probably the only thing that lived up to other comments was the elevator which was like a motorized phone booth. No complaint here, it was fun and part of our experience, wouldn't have it any other way.

We got caught in the interior of France when a regional railroad strike began the day we were to go to Paris and I was concerned about the reservations since it was certain we would be very late arriving. I managed to get a call in to them and was very fortunate to get an English speaking person who assured us they would hold the room for a late arrival.

This was our last nights after the month in France and it certainly capped off the trip, we loved the country and all the people we met, well almost.

I've read the comments about rudeness and arrogance in the treatment of US tourists and we never encountered this on the entire trip. It was at the airport where Air France juggled our seats, separated us and put us in interior seats, a change from seat assignments we had held for over a month. The reservation desk advised us to work it out at the gate desk as we were early for the flight and it should be easy to fix. The "twerp' at the desk was immediately rude. I was calm and respectful, after overcoming the railroad strike this was little more than a speed bump in our trip. I assured the guy we weren't trying to be a pain and showed him the Air France printout showing our original seat assignments. Again without looking at his computer he huffed and said he didn't speak English and went on to other things. So I just wished him a miserable life as he already had a head start and it was evident he understood what I said, But that said there are jerks in all nationalities just interesting that he had to be sure we encountered at least one rude Frenchman on our trip.

Life is Good!!!

Room Tip: Can't say enough about the Hotel du Levant if you want to be in the heart of the Latin Quarter...

Dear Sir or Madam,

We are happy you enjoyed your stay in our hotel, which is not always the case when you find a hotel at the last minute .

We understand your point about the rudeness of some French people towards tourits , wherever they come from ,not only towards the Americans .

It is all the more unacceptable coming from pepole who work in the tourist industry , it's just like biting the hand that feeds you .

As you say, there are jerks in every nationality, but never mind, life goes on .

Anyway, we hope this bad experience did not put you off and we will be happy to see you again some other time as soon as you can

Best regards.

My traveling companion selected Hôtel du Levant after a long Internet search. What an awesome selection. The initial greeting set the tone for our stay. In fact, every staff member went out of his or her way to make us feel welcome. There's a pleasant sitting area off the lobby, a perfect place to watch the people strolling the Latin Quarter or to read a book over a glass of wine. My room, number 38, was small but recently remodeled and sparkling clean with a comfortable twin bed. A good shower with plenty of hot water. The hotel's location is also ideal and close to bus, Metro, and RER stops. And one of the best parts of all: a very reasonable price. Not certain when I'll be fortunate enough to return to Paris. When I do, I'll book Hôtel du Levant.

The location of the hotel is excellent and room is clean. It also come with breakfast, which is great way to start the day. It is great value!!!!!! The bathroom were recently remodel and clean, although the carpet seem to be on the worn out side.

It is 2 min from Notre Dame and less than a min walk from the metro. Great hotel to stay if coming in from Orley airport as there is no need to transfer to another train or metro (except for Antony, if you are coming form Orley, Antony is a must stop for transfer to get to Paris).

There are restaurants within steps of the hotel and shops to browse. Staff are friendly and helpful. I would return to this hotel again.

Dear client,

Thank you for your nice comment about our hotel.

Indeed, the Hotel du Levant has an outstanding location in the heart of the Latin Quarter in the centre of Paris. Transportation is really easy access with many types of transportation: metro, regional train, bus. Roissy CDG airport and Orly airport are in direct access such as main parisian railway stations (Gare du Nord, Gare Montparnasse, Gare de Lyon, Gare de l'Est).

Our rooms are very clean and regularly renovated. The charm of the old is conserved without forgetting the modern comfort that our clients are in rights to expect.

Many restaurants and shops are close. The Latin Quarter is known for culture and arts. Consequently, there are a lot of book shops and art galleries.

Our staff is dedicated to help you and is very friendly.

We hope to welcome another time at the Hotel du Levant.

Best regards.
