“first time trip to Paris”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

We recently stayed at this hotel when we were traveling with Riviera Travel who were excellent, our courier Jonathan could not have been better, always alert to everyone's needs and very informative.
The hotel was clean and comfotable and located within easy reach of cafes, bars, shops the metro and bus stops. My only complaint was that we were unable to make a hot drink and to purchase them in the hotel was expensive.

Room Tip: We had a room on the second floor which was at the back and quiet with a pleasant outlook.

I stayed here for three nights last week. For 100 E you can't go wrong. Very clean, good water pressure and hot water, comfortable bread. The breakfast was fine. There is a small bar in the lobby. It's a five minute walk to the metro station. The neighbourhood is quiet here. There is a friendly bar a block away and a small grocery store even closer.,I'd stay here again when in Paris.

easy access to alesia tube station on line 7. well kept rooms, nothing much to complain, except that temperature controls in the rooms need to be taken care of, especially in summers. It was pretty sultry in July and the room did nothing to improve. Breakfast was good. Internet connectivity was also great. Friendly reception, they helped me with directions. Not very far from much of the tourist destinations, a pack of metro tickets which come at a discount, would make the stay even better. Would visit again if I am there on a week long trip.

We were in Paris for both business & a weekend break. I had stayed in ibis hotels in France before & knew what to expect, thus choosing to stay here.

The room was spotless & beds v comfortable. Good flat screen TV, and v good wifi. The amenities were very modern in the compact room, but we had no plans to hang around for any length of time. The bathroom was delightful, but the water pressure was sadly poor for such a lovely shower.

However, we were woken up twice before 12pm checkout by staff entering room first at 9.25am then again at 11am - with no explanation. Neither time did they wait for an answer to be allowed in, nor did they apologise. We were furious, more so as we had only been asleep for 2.5 hours the first time. Granted we did not remember to put the 'do not disturb' sign on the front of the door, but there was absolutely no reason for them to come in before 12 - and even less reason twice.

Also the room was exceedingly hot with no temperature control so made sleep uncomfortable.

Despite this, it would not stop me from staying here or at another ibis hotel again; I would just make sure I had a word with reception when checking in to make sure no one disturbed us.

I'm still looking for the perfect price/quality balance in Paris. Some hotels I definitely wouldn't go back to but this hotel ticked more boxes than most for me.
We enjoy the Montparnasse area, especially around Alesia so usually try to find hotels in that area. This hotel is situated a short walk from Alesia metro station, down the Rue du Moulin Vert and around the corner on Rue des Plantes.
It looks just like a typical Ibis hotel, but the welcome was very warm and there was even free coffee, mineral water, croissants and madeleines available in the foyer area all day. What a lovely touch. Usually one of our first trips out is to the Carrefour supermarket at the end of Avenue Jean Moulin to buy water but this time there was no need, There was even a bottle of water and some sweets in the room.
We had booked a double room and the room was very small, as expected. The bed was large, possibly king size and there was just a narrow strip around it. Luckily we didn't have big suitcases or I don't know where we would have put them. Hanging space and shelving was limited to a small corner unit so we mostly just lived out of our bags for the three days we were there. The bathroom was ok, not too small with plenty of hot water all day for showering. We could live with the small space as the hotel was where we wanted to be in Paris and we were only there at night. It was within easy walking distance of shops, metro station, the supermarket and our favourite restaurant! During the night, it was mostly very quiet (except for the refuse collection) and the temperature in the room easily controlled. There is also free Wi-Fi.
Breakfast was included in the cost of the rate we had chosen and was the usual Ibis selection, with amongst other things, croissants, pain au chocolat, bread, fruit salad, yoghurt, ham and cheese and a good selection of hot and cold drinks.
This is a hotel we would stay in again. For some it might seem quite far out from the centre of Paris, but we prefer to stay in an area where Parisians actually live themselves. It is really only 10-15 minutes into the centre on the metro and Alesia is on a direct line from the Gard du Nord and Gare de l'Est. Well done Ibis Styles Paris Alesia, you have managed to please me fairly well and I am not easy to please. It isn't a posh hotel, quite basic but with some little extra touches you wouldn't have expected.
