“Good location, good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2012

Location is great for a budget hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Has a bit of a fun urban hostel feel. Rooms are a bit shabby but clean and do the trick.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2012

Duration of stay: 4nights
Purpose: Birthday
Good points: Excellent friendly staff. Good location 150m from metro(Place De La Republique).
Very clean. Lift. Breakfast until 10.30am.
Not so good: no tea/coffee facilities, a coffee vending machine would have been perfect. Rooms a little tired. Some rooms face inward with only a view of the other walls. No lounge or bar although there are bars nearby.
I would return here.

Room Tip: Ask for a street facing room although this is on a main road.

Pros: Great location, very central and safe (as a woman traveling alone and getting back to the hotel quite late I felt really safe). The room was very clean, and the bathroom renovated. Cons: Staff wasn't helpful, wireless didn't work in my room (nor at the reception sometimes), and the hotel was going through renovation (at some point the water was cut off and I wasn't warned about the noisy renovation work in the morning).

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter, but with no view or wireless.

- nice staff at the reception (did not ask for ID or payment at checkin, told us that will pay after accomodating - smart approach for making the tourist feeling good)
- renovated room, all amenities working well
- every day cleaning
- a bit cold in the room during night in september, but we had extra blankets in the closet
- very good and safe location and close to metro
Overall a good stay with no reason to complaint and I would definitely recommend it!

We stayed 4 nights at this small family owned hotel. The price was very reasonable. My sister and I had a room with 2 twin beds and we were very comfortable. The room was small but met our needs. The bathroom was updated and had a very nice shower. We were on the 4th floor and there is an elevator. We had wake up calls and they were always on time. We were very happy there. It is an older hotel and they said they are constantly trying to keep up with renovations. Our room had a safe which was much appreciated since my sister got pick pocketed on the subway. After that happened the hotel helped her call her husband and credit card companies to cancel the cards. They were very helpful and compassionate. The next day the owner made sure where we had our personal belongings and that they were protected. She was a big help. She told us the pick pocketers weren't local people and that they are bussed in to do their dirty work!!! Shameful. If you go make sure your things are protected. Warnings are made everywhere to protect your stuff. Anyway the hotel had free internet access and a computer to use for guests. Their breakfast was very good and reasonable. You were given a basket of breads and pastries, cream cheese and jam and coffee and juice for 7 Euros. The hotel was in walking distance to the subway and many good restaurants! We usually hired a taxi for our return trips which costs from 10-17 Euros. Make sure you have the right change as taxi drivers say they don't have change. The cost to get to the airport was from the hotel by taxi was 70 Euros.

Spent a weekend here at the end of Feb and found this an excellent base for a weekend in Paris. Room was at the front and was light and airy and as the windows were closed we didn’t hear the traffic at all. Room was modern and clean. Shower room had an interesting crouch level window see the video on you tube as its difficult to describe.

We didn’t eat in hotel as we eat out and on advice from this site we had breakfast at the cafe across the road where we ate croissants and coffee for breakfast.
Check in and out was easy and there was a lift up to our floor and they had an efficient left luggage room.
It was just a 2 minute walk to the subway which had several lines to it.
No complaints at all for this hotel in a generally expensive city.

Room Tip: Take your own kettle as there isnt tea making in room
