My best friend and I stayed here for 6 days, in a twin room. Room was on 4th floor, near lift and in corner of hotel. It was small, but this did not matter to us, because we were barely in it! Bathroom was decent size, minimum shelving (again, not enough for two women!) and we basically had to live out of our suitcases, but this did not matter to us. Room does have a 'wardrobe' of sorts, with no door, 10 hangers and a storage cupboard space, which is up high (I'm tall so I could reach it) and two 'step' like shelves at the bottom. Small desk, with tea/coffee facility, tv on wall, and windows open. Beds were comfortable and clean, room clean, bathroom clean. Shower is also small, but my very large friend said there was still enough room for her! Soap, shampoo provided and clean fluffy towels. Two power points in room. Room cleaned/made up each day. Staff very friendly and helpful and most spoke english very well.
Breakfast is currently 9 Euro p,p., and had the usual array of breads, toaster, ham, cheeses, fresh fruits & pastries, cereals, jams/preserves, juice, tea & coffee. We liked it, the twice we had it.
Free wireless internet, small lounge area at lobby, snack machine and all the tourist info you need! The lift is also small, only fits 3 people, but we never really had to wait for it.
Great area, right near Eiffel Tower, lots of cafes/bars/restaurants nearby. Supermarkets/Post office/hairdresser nearby.
Loved the bar next door and the restaurant bar down the street (St.Martins...say hi for me if you get to these two!) where the food was good and reasonably priced. All the locals, really made us feel welcome and put up with our poor French!
Number 42 bus on the door step, which we likened to a tourist bus, because of the route it takes and only 1.60 Euro, to Gare Du Nord station (it's last stop). Catch the bus to the hotel, if you've arrived on the Eurostar, quicker and easier, about 30-40 min trip, depending on traffic and there is a lift at this station, so no lugging the cases up and down Metro stairs!
There are also two metro stations close by, Bar Hakiem and Dupliex and RER C a short walk too, so you have easy access to all of Paris. Parking nearby apparently and saw the petrol station on the corner.
Lovely area, felt safe walking around, even at night. Building works happening across the street, but we never heard a thing!
Overall, a very pleasant stay, great price and I'll stay there again!
Thanks to all other reviewers for the honest reviews, we knew what to expect and weren't disappointed!
