“Andre Gill Paris - little gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

My friend and I stayed here in Dec 2012. Had everything we needed, clean, warm and in the centre of town and great bathroom. Lot of activity in hotel with owners doing it up but was not noisy during day. Owners extremely helpful and Marcel who is on reception at night was excellent. Located in a cul-de-cac so noise was minimal. 5 mins walk to supermarket and restaurants and bars. Will return sometime soon. If you like cats perfect place to go. 2 cats at reception so got my daily fix.

Room Tip: we had 32 not a brilliant view but we were only in the room really in the morning and at night so wa...

“Blessed to find this place...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

We travel to Paris often, and usually stay in an apartment. This time we were thrown off course by Hurricane Sandy, and had to stay in a hotel. We feel blessed to have found this inexpensive, family owned gem in such a wonderful spot in Montmartre. And it is NOT dangerous there!! The hotel is in a little courtyard, back from the street, so it was quite quiet. Our room had a nice little balcony, and although it was a typical tiny Parisian hotel room, it was clean and warm, with a comfortable double bed. The biggest plus for us, outside of the low price [ 60 euros, including breakfast] and the fabulous location [ a few feet from the Pigalle Metro stop, and a fun walk up to Sacré Coeur] was the wonderful family and people who run the hotel. We had a family emergency while we were there, and everyone was so kind and helpful. Thanks to Ida, Brian and Marcian. We will definitely stay here again.

“Bad place on a dangerous zone”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

Short review: Stay away from this place!! Seriously

Long review:
Traveled alone around may'12. My first deception was when I got a room on the top floor with common bathroom. Room smell really bad and requested a change. They charged me more for a bit more decent room, not as bad smelly. They have cats around the lobby.

About building, elevator is very small, as well as common areas but no critics, because it's part of the architecture

Arounds: Pigalle is the red light district of Paris, lot of cabarets and indigents. Dangerous place.

“good place for budget travellers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

We booked a double room with bathroom on the internet. Price was 60 euro per night for the room breakfast included. When we arrived at 11pm there was a nice guy at the reception. We had room 50 wich was on the 5th floor. There was an elevator but the elevator is sooooooo small (fits just 2 people) and always stops on the 4th floor for no reason. We had so much fun taking the elevator ;-)
This place has a great location.Close to the sacre coeur and moulin rouge. Walking distance from the train station. There are two subwaylines near and a carrefour supermarket.
There are some bars, restaurants and even concertrooms next to the hotel and still there wasn 't much noise, sometimes heard a little bit of some concert untill 23 o clock and then it stopped. Sometimes even extremely quiet at night.
Our room had 3 beds in stead of 1 double bed. But we just put the beds together and had 1 SUpersize bed. Beds are not for tall people. Beds were not too hard or too soft but just ok.
The room was good sized. Bathroom was big and clean. It was very cold outside but the room was cosy and warm.
Beds were made up every day and got new towels every day.
You can see that it used too be a 2 star hotel maybe in the 70's or so... Now everything is a bit older and not so modern anymore but they were renovating the 6th floor when we were there.
Only thing that bothered us was that breakfast was between 7.30 en 9.30 so there wasn't much time to sleep out. Breakfast is 1 croissant, 1 piece of baguette, butter, jam ,coffee and orange juice. The room where breakfast is served is very small but cosy.
And in the daytime there was not always somebody at the reception excepte for 2 cats ;-)
Would stay here again because hard to find a room in paris with such great quiet location(montmartre) and breakfast for that money.

Room Tip: rooms at the back and higher up are very quiet. Elevator is very small so if you are claustrophobic...

“Great loc & Staff needs some fixing up”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012 via mobile

The hotel is in a great location-  just a short walk from the beautiful Montmartre neighborhood.

The staff is also very nice, specially Marcial.  He definetly played a big part in making our stay so great.

The only complaint is that the rooms are very plain and not in the best conditions , although it seems that they are working on this.  I'm  not a high maintenance person by any means, but I do believe it would be to the benefit of the hotel to make their rooms more comfortable & aesthetically pleasing to their guest.
