“A Great Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2012

After reading many negative comments on this hotel I was game enough to try it for myself.

I loved it!

1) Prompt check in and courteous staff.

2) Rooms are cleaned daily and kept clean.

3) Bed was comfortable.

4) Fantastic location and served by two metro station within walking distance.

5) Breakfast was great. For 2 Euros you get a baguette, croissant, tea/coffee/hot chocolate, butter and jam. Bargain!

I will definitely come back again and I strongly recommend this hotel for anyone on a budget.

Looking for a cheap hotel in Paris? This is a good option. The staff is friendly, it is very cheap and the location is great. It is rather run down but at first sight it looks clean. I stayed there twice in a week in two different rooms. Both times I got bitten - and seriously - by bedbugs. I thought the first bites where mosquitoes, and unfortunately only realized what it was the second time I stayed there.

Dreadful place to stay. Very dirty. The hallways have a really bad smell. Breakfast is fine but poor. Near to the subway station.

This hotel is good if you want a decent place just for sleeping, having a shower and breakfast, and enjoy Paris for the rest of the day.
This is not a place if you want to stay in the room for the rest of the day. With 4 people in the room it is a bit cramped, there was no chair to sit on.

Personal was very friendly and helpful.
The location is excellent. It is a walking distance from the Marais and the Place des Vosges. You have 2 Metro lines a couple of hundred meters from the hotel: Station Saint-Sébastien-Froissart on Line-8, and station Richard-Lenoir on line-5.
You have a “Paris à vélo” around the corner (http://www.parisvelosympa.com/) if you want to visit Paris by bike, with or without a guide.

This is the third time I stay in this hotel over the last 5 years, with my wife and 2 kids.
They have a small flat screen TV, with a couple of French TV-channels.
They have a couple of parking spots in the garage just opposite of the hotel building. Price is 20EUR per day (2011); make a reservation in advance by phone.
They have free WIFI the lobby

French breakfast is good; a croissant with a peace of bread, orange juice and as much coffee or tea as you want. Breakfast is included.

Yes, the have bed bugs (Cimex lectularius). It is becoming a mayor problem in Paris. It is nearly impossible to eradicate them (you have to demolish the building). Apparently they do not carry diseases but it is very itchy.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back

Stayed 2 nights in Hotel San Sebastien and I was glad it was only 2 nights. Was more than happy to check out at the end of the stay. Location wise, it is convenient, about 8 minutes walk to the nearest Metro station.
The room amenities are very basic, only good enough if you just need a bed and shower at the end of the day. Bed was squeaky and had questions over the cleanliness of the sheets. The bathroom reeks of stale cigarettes and it was awful. There was no Wifi service and me and my mate was left staring at French TV for 2 nights. We got a room on the 2nd floor and there was noises of cars, people etc in the evening.
Breakfast is compulsory and you have to pay 2 euro per person and what you get is 2 cold hard bread, a pathetic cup of orange juice and machine coffee. Fill the stomach but definitely what you want to start the day.
Overall, I WILL not return to the hotel and will discourage anyone to. For the same amount of the money, you can get better options in Paris.

The second night in this hotel we were awaken at 4am with something crawling on my husband. I found the black bug, squeeze it and got blood all over my fingers. We found a second bug and took it to the front desk. They gave us another room but they should have not even charged us. I'm back home going to the doctor and not having much luck getting cured of the bites. I wish I had read a review before I let the hotel representative at the train station take me over to Saint-Sebastien. I don't think I want to visit Paris again after this experience.

This Hotel is very inexpensive and the location is absolutely great. That's why I didn't expect too much. It is hard to find a cheap hotel in Paris that is located very well.
I stayed 3 nights with my boyfriend and it was OK. The room was very small and so was the shower, but all things considered it was allright.
I thought that it will be worse because of all the bad reports but our room (#104) was very clean and the bad was good as well.
The TV in our room didn't work, but we didn't come to Paris to watch TV.
Breakfast was pretty good: one Croissant and baguette + one coffee, tea, hot chocolate or juice for each person.
The staff was very nice but they didn't speak English very well.
If you look for a place to stay where you really just want to sleep and have breakfast in Paris, I would recommend this hotel.
