“Great value...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

Spent the weekend at this hotel and were very satisfied with all it had to offer. Spotlessly clean, fresh towels every day, pleasant and helpful staff - all for an extremely reasonable price. Good location with a handy little supermarket just along the road.

Room Tip: Rooms are obviously being upgraded so it might be worthwhile to ask for one of these.

We thought the hotel was excellent value. The staff were welcoming and obliging. They allowed us to leave our luggage at the hotel on our final day and collect it before catching our train. It is ideally situated for the Gare du Nord and Eurostar and even closer to Gare de L'Est for Metro connections. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast looked a little pricey at 8E, so we ate out at a boulangerie on the walk into the city.

It's a good deal if you don't want to spend a lot of money, it is quite clean, the reception is open 24 h and it's closed to the metro station. If you don't have to stay for so much time is ok, instead of it's not the best choice.

From the time we walked in to the time we left we felt welcome and at home. The reception girl was efficient friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel was clean and our room was more than adequate for our needs. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Room Tip: Our room was on the fifth floor at the rear overlooking roof tops. It was very peaceful up there awa...

Hotel was ok for price considering it was Paris, room however was slightly dated. Noticed that the rest of the rooms were under a refurb, and the newer rooms looked alot better.

It is close to Metro which was cheap for travelling around.

Main problem was that the double bed was two singles pushed together. This did provide a good laugh when I woke up in the middle of the night on the floor when the two beds parted.

Also the shower was a bit dirty and the shower tray was tiny.

Nice staff thou..

I stayed here recently with a small school group and as usual was delighted by the standard of cleanliness throughout. I have stayed here a few times before and never been disappointed. Very close to Gare de l'Est underground for quick and easy access to all the major Parisian sights. The staff are very friendly and speak a variety of languages. The hotel is old and the rooms old fashioned but this adds to the charm. Some of the rooms on the top floors have recently been renovated and the staff tell me that there is a gradual upgrading going on. Some pupils were based on the 6th floor and had an angled view of the Sacré Coeur which looked great at night all lit up. The breakfast was the usual cereal, croissants, biscuits/cakes, fruit juice, tea, chocolate, coffee. I will certainly be back :-) Rod

This is an honest review. The hotel is typical Parisian fairly small rooms however you do not spend much time in your room. The hotel was fit for our purpose a bed and a place to touch base during our busy break in Paris.
The staff are very friendly, most spoke very good English and recommended places to eat and the best route to travel to attractions. The hotel is in a great location, on a main road with access to two main metro stations within two minutes’ walk. Notre Dame was only a 15minute walk by foot. There is many bistros and cafes nearby with a ten minute walk to the centre promenade with lots of cute cafe bars. Although on a main street and near metro stations i did not hear much noise as previous reviews state, however this could be due to our room being on the 3rd floor.
The staff lock the hotel at night and it is staffed 24-7 so you feel safe. There were no issues with staff or thieves like previous reviews. The bed was made every day and fresh towels.
Although the hotel requires updating as it is not modern. The price they charge alongside the great service from staff and the brilliant location made the hotel stay satisfactory. if you are expecting anything more than a basic 3 star then expect to pay high prices in Paris. We were a couple looking for a clean, comfortable and good located hotel to explore Paris safely and we found it with the Est Hotel.
Pros
Great Location, close to central attractions
Nearby places to eat and drink
Friendly Staff who are happy to help
Clean and Comfortable

Cons
Hotel rooms are very small
Hotel rooms require updating.
