Had the opportunity to stay at the Hotel France Albion (single room, 2nd floor facing the main street) in July 2012...overall a pretty good stay, minus the construction (more details below)
Price/booking tips - Ended up booking about 6 months in advance, so I got a pretty sweet deal on Expedia (4 nights - 1 night free, other 3 nights only $90/night CDN with tax). Would be a good idea to book as early as possible, as I noticed this hotel booked up a few months in advance before July rolled around
Location - Located literally 50 steps away from Notre-Dame-de-Lorette Metro stop (the closest one to the hotel). If you decide to take the Roissybus from the airport, the bus stop is approx 10-15 mins (walking) from the stop...but just make sure you know which way you're walking (I ended up walking the OPPOSITE way at first....not a good start to my Paris trip!). Plenty close to other Metro/bus stops, so no need to worry about getting to/from various parts of Paris via public transit. Also very close to Gare du Nord train station (one bus away or about 13 euro taxi ride away).
Within immediate walking distance, there was a small-ish grocery store stocked with the basics, and some cool little restauraunts. Walking ~10-15 minutes more would allow you to find a TON more restauraunts, a big Carrefour grocery store, McDonalds/Quick fast food, some department stores and a whole host of other things.
Staff - Found the staff to be very pleasant at the front desk, although I got a little "lecture" from one of the staff members who were upset that I didn't drop off the key before leaving (oh well....). Was able to check in a bit earlier, which was a nice plus.
Room - As you can see from the pics, the room was nothing fancy. Just a basic single bed with a tiny corner desk, a small TV (with mostly french channels, although some interesting english channels as well [CNBC, CNNi, etc]) and a small closet. I'll give the hotel full credit for keeping the room super clean, although the rooms are definitely on the tired side (though when you're in Paris, you spend veryyyyyyyyyyy little time in your hotel!). Didn't try out the breakfast, but you could purchase it individually in the morning at the front desk.
+Decent location - not immediately central, but close enough to all of the "touristy" stuff
+Nice little neighbourhood with a lot of locals/little markets - get a decent taste of Paris just within the immediate area
+Good price if you can book early
-CONSTRUCTION right outside the hotel - don't know how long it's planned for, but you can definitely see & FEEL it. One morning I decided to "sleep in" until 8am and was awoken by a HUGE jackhammer which was so loud/close, it honestly felt like my insides were going to be dislocated (....slight exaggeration). On the bright side, I guess you don't need an alarm clock :P
-Rooms are a bit tired/small, but not awful considering the price
-Weak wi-fi: could barely get a signal 50% of the time in my room, and I was on the 2nd floor. Definitely annoying
**Great value overall, would highly recommend!
