“Ok hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

Stayed here for 5 nights. Very near to the subway which is very convenient. There's a supermarket, bakery and pharmacist just a few steps away. Surrounding the hotel there are chinese, indian, lebanese, french and other types of food. Breakfast was EU8, the spread was ok but for that price I could have gotten the same for restaurants across the road. At least I can get some variation right? Service was good, the staff are exceptionally friendly and informative. Internet was free but the wifi wasnt good, we just got cut off all the time. Room was very very small but then it's Paris, what can we expect. I'm glad they have a lift which is quite difficult to find. I would say this hotel is a good hotel and will go back there again if visiting Paris again.

Small renovated hotel, away from main attractions, but in a lively multi-kulti arrondissement, courteous staff, small but clean rooms, noisy on the street side but with efficient and inaudible air conditioning, good mattresses and lovely bare walls - you see so much outside anyway! Carpet and some bathroom fixtures deserve upgrading, but this not the Ritz, offers very good price/quality relation. Close to métro & bus, lots of cafés, restaurants nearby, monoprix and more around the corner, lively sunday market on rue Joinville, one block from bassin de la Villette.

Room Tip: if you have a problem with noise and/or closed windows ask for a triple room facing back of building...

Spent 3 nights at the hotel Crimee. First of all, the hotel was easy to find by car. We could use the private parking place behind the hotel (free of charge), so that was a big plus for us because parking in Paris can be quite difficult. You can't reserve a place, it is based on who comes first. We were in the low season, so there were a couple of places available.

The hotel is perfect for travelling with the metro, there is a station just around the corner which brings you to the center in about 20 min. The area is also nice with lots of bakeries and cafe's.

The hotel looked nice from the outside and the lobby also looked welcoming. The receptionist was also really nice (and spoke good english). The room we had was quit small and the bathroom was TINY. You could hardly turn around in it. This was even for Paris standards really small!

The room was really clean and was kept this way. The beds were okay for a couple of nights, but maybe not for a longer stay. Our room was facing the street so it could be noisy at times. But that was the only noise we heard, the hotel was fully booked when we were there, and we never heard our neighbours.

We paid E90,- per night, which I think is a fair price for what you get.

Our room was very small - there were two single beds pushed together, because there wouldn't have been room to separate them! There was also not really any floor space for our luggage, as there was only the entryway and then just enough room to walk around the bed. The bathroom was also very small and looked like it could do with some updating. Regardless, it would be fine for shorter stays, and we only stayed one night which was fine.

The main thing that both of us noticed is that the beds are super comfy! The mattresses are soft and cozy, and so are the blankets and pillows, which added up to a very comfortable night's sleep.

The hotel was average, the breakfast critical :) We spent here just two nights in August 2011, the district was under massive reconstruction, we were having problems with the traffic, but the metro was just a couple of meters away.

I recommend it for short stays.

This is my third visit at hotel Crimée in less than a year. Coming from London, I frequently take Eurostar and find the proximity to Gare du Nord (but without the hustle and bustle of a place near a big train station) very convenient. The taxi ride is short and costs about 7.50 euros with my big suitcase.
During this visit I was on a higher floor, in a quiet room which for me is a luxury, especially in Paris. It also had two relatively large windows, which made the room luminous and less stuffy than other hotels of this size can be. My bathroom had only a shower (I am usually a bath person), but the toilet was separate and honestly I did not miss the bath.
I was also impressed by the attitude of the staff (reception & breakfast), which I found very professional and helpful, they called my taxi promptly, even went outside to help with my suitcase, as well as the charming couple who make this a true and rare family hotel. Would I stay again? Of course.
