my partner & I stayed at the Beauséjour Montmartre on 4th nov 2008 for 1 night & we felt this hotel was perfect for anyone staying in paris on a budget.

the location is excellent, less than a five minute walk from a metro station (place de clichy). the staff were very helpful when i phoned up to get directions & their english was excellent as unfortunately i dont speak much french.

our room was quite basic but exactly what we needed...a bed to sleep in! the bedding was very clean as was the bathroom. i had expected the room to be much smaller after reading reviews of hotel rooms in paris but found that it was reasonably sized. our room faced onto a side street & we never heard much noise from outside but after seeing the very pretty garden area i would recommend requesting a garden facing room. we never heard any noise from inside the hotel.

breakfast is served in the garden area although we chose to have breakfast in one of the cafe's near the hotel. there are a number of restaurants in the immediate area as well as supermarket.

we walked to the moulin rouge in around 10 mins. i felt the area the hotel is in was much safer then the area right at the moulin rouge & was glad we had not stayed closer.

i would definetley stay in this hotel again & would recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality budget hotel.

  • Liked — location...english speaking staff...cleanliness...12 o'clock check out
  • Disliked — i had no issues

I stayed with my partner in this hotel last year. It's advantages are numerous, the first being it's location. It's minutesfrom the metro and the bus stops, and there is a good supermarket across the road. The rooms and bathrooms are tiny, and there is really no storage space to speak of, however they are very clean. Our room looked out upon a walled garden, a magical place where breakfast is sometimes served.
The main reason we liked the hotel so much was the multilingual receptionist Cyril. I wonder if he's still working there. He was a treasure. From booking our tickets on the TGV to getting us a place on a champagne tour, he did wonders.

  • Liked — the location and the receptionist
  • Disliked — the small rooms

When we booked online we booked a 'deluxe' double, but looks can be deceiving... to us, our room just looked like a standard double... so that in itself wasn't a good start.

However, we were pleasantly surprised that the bed was incredibly comfortable for a hotel bed, the staff were extremely helpful, very friendly and spoke very good english. We had a room facing in towards the lovely garden, so it was very quite and you would not believe it was so close to one of the busiest streets in Montmartre. It also surprised us both to hear that the hotel was completely booked out, because you rarely heard anyone in the hotel itself.

Another benefit was the free usage of the computer downstairs near the breakfast room that was linked to a very fast internet connection which came in handy alot.

Also, the bed is made everyday with fresh towels to enjoy every evening which was a really lovely touch.

On the hotel's website it does state that the Moulin Rouge is approx 20mins walk away but my partner and I could walk there easily in 10mins. There are some fantastic cafes and restaurants around the hotel and a supermarket across the road.

Overall, it is a fantastic 2 star hotel. Very quite, lovely staff, great location and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking for a chic hotel on a budget.

I thought i had sent a review, oh well, better late than never. 1st off
the location (for us anyway) was perfect, cafe's, asstd restaurants, bars, shops and entertainment in the near by area's. The Metro is a very short walk - Palce de Clichy is an interchange station - Lignes #2 & #13 , there are buses, however we did not use them.
The hotel it's self we found was very good value, our room a double was clean and not to small. We were on the 4th floor facing rue Lecluse and the only problem we had with noise was people in the bar across the street watching the rugby world cup, France was playing and the natives were having a 'u' beaut p..s up!!, it was only one night anyhow. The staff were great , very friendly and spoke very good English...much better than our limited French.
The real test of a place is the 'Q' would we stay there again............
ABSOLUTELY. We rated it Excellent, because, that was our experience there. We stayed 4 nights. Can't wait to return.

My friends and I stayed at this hotel in July 2008. First of all, the location of the hotel is AWESOME!! It's close to the metro, and there are many of bakeries, cafe, bistros and bars in the area, a lively neighborhood.
We had the triple room with a garden view. It’s located on the first floor tucked away in the back of the hotel. The triple room is really small; we barely had room for our luggage. The bathroom is clean but the shower has no door or curtain, so it’s kinda tricky to shower without making a watery mess. Our room faces the beautiful quaint atrium where we relaxed and had our breakfast. Though there was no air-conditioning (most hotels in Paris don’t), we slept with our windows open, and it was great and quiet. Some other reviewers had mentioned issues with noises we didn’t have that problem. Our other friends had a double room with a balcony on the fifth floor, and they didn’t have problem with noises neither. Overall, we had a great stay and enjoyed our time in Paris.
