“Hard to fault.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

I have been to this hotel three times now - once was planned, the others because I missed the last train by a few minutes. It is a perfect place to stay for any duration of time and I would highly recommend it to anybody coming over to Paris - families, couples, friends or on your own. It accommodates for all! The rooms, although small, are well decorated and very clean. All rooms are fitted with an en-suite bathroom/shower room and although the showers can be a bit temperamental at times it's not enough to get worked up about. I was extremely surprised by the low prices seeing as it's in such a prime location - just another bonus! The staff are all very friendly with all the front-desk staff speaking very good English. They even allowed someone like me, who is studying French at university, to practice using the French language - although it can be a bit rough at times. I would also highly recommend paying the extra six euros for breakfast where you are given a fresh mug of coffee as well as a fresh croissant and baguette with an assortment of jams and butter.

The only thing I can fault is that if you have trouble sleeping due to noise you may want to find a hotel away from that area as there has been construction there for a couple of months and doesn't look like it's almost finished. It's also very close to restaurants and late-night shops which seems to attract people at all times of the night. Just a heads up...

All in all, I have been very satisfied with the service and have already booked myself in for another weekend in a couple of months.

Room Tip: The higher up you go, the less noisy people on the stairs.

“Convenient, value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

Thank you Trip Advisor community for enabling us to find this hotel. We stayed a week as a family in August 2012 as our usual hotel pick near the Champs Elysee was full. At first I was slightly concerned as the room rate seemed low for Paris but what a great find! Location is excellent as you are in walking distance to main subway interconnections, bus stops, 5 min walk to the Air France bus which will take you (regardless of your airline) directly to both Parisian airports (Orly and Charles de Gaulle).
We arrived early in the morning but were able to check in straight away, baby cot was provided, our room was at the end of the corridor on the 4th floor. Note the elevator is very small but quite usual for Parisian buildings, no fridge in the room. Air conditioning worked wonderfully. Rooms were definitively recently refurbished and looked very nice and most of all SPOT clean. Next to the hotel there is a famous street for Theaters and thus lots of restaurant choices and if you wish to skip breakfast which at the time of publishing is 6 EUR (cheap for Paris) there is a bakery at the end of the street. Room has a safety box.
Overall a fantastic find, thanks to the trip advisor community, we'll definitively be back on our next trip!

PROs:
Location, cleanliness, value for money

CONs:
Bathroom is very small (but convenient)
1 small step to enter and another one to get to the lift (but the receptionist helped us with our bags)

“Good for the price, very clean and close to the Gare Montparnesse”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

I stayed in a room on the first floor of the receptionist (104). It was very tiny but clean. The rugs were old and the wallpaper, giving it a feel of being old and dirty but the shower, bathroom and sheets were all very clean. (There was not an outlet in the bathroom near the mirror to plug in items such as a curling iron).

I did stay alone but if 2 people were sharing this room, there really would not have been much room, and no room to put the luggage. If one does not mind that and is really just staying for the bed and proximity to the Gare Montparnasse, it is a good choice for the price.

I arrived very late at night and the reception was open 24 hours. I was able to have a late dinner just down the street and felt very safe walking alone.

The pictures shown on this site are not of the room that I stayed. My room looked very outdated. Not that I really care about feeling updated, it is more about the feeling of being in a clean room.
Just a little money in the rug, removing the wallpaper and adding fresh paint would really give the guests a better feeling that the room is clean. (and update the AC!)

My AC did not work very well at all. I did not feel safe leaving the window open because it would have been easy for someone to enter the room through the terrace. Luckily, the temperature was not very hot the night I stayed.

For a hotel just near the train station and for the age, it is very nice, small but clean and in my opinion, one of the most important things that a hotel must be.

“Good Hotel very convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2012

Its located in a great area very close to the train station, and metro, breakfast wasn't very inspiring, only bothered with it one morning, and it wasn't very fresh, lift very small but when your on the 5th floor its good when out walking all day, the only problem we had was that some tablets (perscription medication) went missing, from room draw, not happy and made my stay a lot more painfull, other than that it was great, would go again but would keep meds with me. bed comfy apart from plastic sheet, so when warm it made you very hot and sweaty and not in a good way LOL. hotel reception staff very helpfull

Room Tip: try and get a refurbished room they are great, we were on the 5th floor

“No frills, but clean and convenient”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2012

The location near Gare Montparnasse was great for our early train and the cleanliness was certainly up to par. However, broken elevator and meager room quality left a lot to be desired. I would stay here again, but only if it was a little cheaper and for a night or two.

In defense of the hotel, they are undergoing renovations (no noise problems, though), so maybe after everything is fixed up it'll be a different story.
