“Let down by poor service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

Booked their suite months ahead for a stay in December 2014.
Confirmed weeks before by email and again by email two days before we arrived.

We'd searched Paris for a well placed, well priced suite, so we could sleep four and enjoy an evening in while the kids slept in separate room.

Arrived at 12, clearly they knew they had a problem with our booking, but the reception were not friendly or open dealing with their issue.

Back at 5 and they tell us the suite is not available.

So they give us a room with two beds, a broken cot and some sort of sofa chair bed; for the four of us.

Credit to the man on night shift; he was a good guy and wrestled in another bed. So there we were, in our packed dormitory.

Leaving the next day our annoyance was not handled well by the manager, in fact it was made worse.

To top it off, our three year old left his beloved teddy bear in his bed, which despite reporting the loss the same day, was never found again.

All incredibly dissapointing and mainly through bad organisation, attitude and service rather than any issue with the fabric of the place.

Either avoid, or insist on written confirmation of booking from the hotel manager, particularly for their one suite.

Spent a lovely 3 days and night at this hidden jewel of a hotel. Room excellent, staff friendly and very helpful. Great selection at breakfast, served in room at no extra charge with 10 minutes notice. Coffee available in reception area 24hrs and fresh juices and cakes from 14.00 to 19.00 hrs. Late arrival no problem as 24 hr English speaking reception. It also has a airport tranfer service cheaper than we booked on Internet and was prompt. Three of us using WiFi in room with good speed and reception.plenty of sockets in room.

This hotel was very good value for money, v clean and the staff were very friendly. They couldn't do enough for you. One morning they brought our breakfast to the room for us and there was no charge (many hotels charge for room service!) free juice, coffee and cakes in reception all day ( a lovely touch). Breakfast very nice. Would definitely stay again. only a short walk to the Gare de L'Est and other metro stations closer. Nice café bar across the road and a reasonably priced supermarket which was very handy.

Room Tip: We had a room with a balcony on the front of the building which was lovely but if you want peace and...

Dear Momik,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your opinion on tripadvisor!!

We are very glad ro read that you found our team so friendly, thank you for mentioning it.

Indeed the location is very convenient and this part of Paris is definitely becoming a great area with all the new bars, restaurants and shops surrounding the Canal Saint Martin

See you back soon in Paris!!

Staff were very helpful and attentive, provided us any information we needed to know, booked taxis for us and bought us breakfast up to our room for free which is normally charged in other hotels.
Breakfast was a buffet of pastries, meats, bread, juices, coffee and some hot food (e.g. egg and sausages) all fresh and they have a juice bar and coffee machine open for use all day.
Room was perfectly sized for the 3 of us and wasn't cramped.
Only downfall is that it is on a main road and we had a room looking out on to the road so it was noisy even at night time (but this is expected being so close to the centre of paris).
Location is perfect for metro (close to the main station Gare de Lest and Republique) and buses (we had a pass for the open top bus tour and the bus stop was a 5 minute walk away).
Very good value for money and would definitely stay here again.

Nice small clean hotel ideal for metro stayed at the back of hotel by request no noise, well located.
Lots of nice restaurants in the vicinity easy to walk to gare du nord for mainline trains, I stayed for two nights on business and was well impressed with this hotel as I like small quite locations so this lived up to my expectations.

Room Tip: Back of hotel quieter rooms.

Thank you very much for your kind comment. We are very happy that your business trip went well.

As you say the room facing the courtyard are very quiet.

We do hope to see you next time work brings you to Paris.

This place was the first stop in our europe trip in Paris. i was very pleased with the location of this place .
Its right in the middle of everything . Very close to the Subway station, All the restaurants /Cafes.

Good things :
1. Location
2. Breakfast is included .
3. Very close to the subway station and the paris main train station.
4. Staff is friendly
5. Premium suits facing towards the street has a good view and a good balcony too

Bad things.
1. The rooms on 7th floor. We had to carry our 20 Kgs suitcase from the stair case as the lift was only till 6th floor.
2. The standard rooms are really small . definately not for two people.
3. We had to pay 20 euros etc to shift into a premium suits as the standard room was really small.
4. We stayed at the same place after our trip was over and we were back to paris and we were given a Bigger room( exactly like a suite ) on the name of standard room . No consistency .
5. They have a Mac computer in their lobby , which is not good for the Copying of your camera pictures.

Since a lot of tourists stay here , i would recommend them to get a normal system so that its usable by everybody.

Room Tip: Dont take the rooms on 7th floor. First of all the lifts doesnt go till there and the rooms are like...

Dear Sonal3684,

Thank you for this detailed review of your stay with us.

I am pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you found the staff friendly.

A s for the rooms, indeed the lift only goes to the 6th floor and it might not be suitable with a big luggage, I am sorry we failed to see that when you checked in. On the other hand the view of Paris roof tops is quite interesting and nice to see ;)

We do sometimes provide repeat customers with a free upgrade, sorry to read it was not appreciated. or maybe we failed to inform you when you came back the second time.

I agree with you on the computer and we will soon change our mac computers for tablets.

Kind regards from Paris,

Sébastien Samséou

It is a good option if you are going to visit Paris and you wish a clean hotel room to sleep.
The room was small, the keeper forgot to replace some towels, but easilly the receptionist assisted us.
Most important the room was clean and tidy.
The location was good, near to metro, patisseries, convenience stores and restaurants.
We payed at the moment of check in and we were surprised when at the check out we were requested to pay city taxes - in the hotel website it is saying that "may be applied", not referring explicitly that they are not inclueded in the room rate - this should be more explicit and we could have been informed of this fact when we payed our stay.

Room Tip: Room faced the backyard is more quiet.

Dear Maria JBMV,

Thank you for the review!

I am very pleased to read that you found the place clean and tidy and enjoyed your stay in our hotel.

As for the city tax, they are never included in the rate. This tax is not a VAT taxe but a tax requested by the city of Paris. It does not belong to the hotel. Paris uses this revenue to maintain the main touristic sightseing places.

Kind regards,

Sébastien Samséou
