“It was fine, but would not stay again...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

Let me start by saying, I am pretty easy to please. I am not very picky in terms of where I sleep on vacation - my main hopes are that the place is clean and the people are friendly. Hotel Darcet is VERY clean, but only a few of the people we met were friendly. We stayed 3 nights and, on one of the nights accidentally spilled some wine on the bed - we, of course, cleaned it as best we could. After we returned from our sightseeing the next day, we were reprimanded for making a mess with the wine and told not to "set wine on the bed", that that is what the tables were for. First of all, duh.. we did not set wine on the bed like it was a table. Second, there are in fact very few places to set anything down. And we weren't just reprimanded once, but twice. Another downside is that you have to give your room key to the front desk when you leave. They say that there is someone at the desk 24 hours - however that someone has to (understandably) use the restroom at some point. When they leave, they lock the door inside and out - so nobody gets in OR out. This happened to one of our cotravelers who was locked out at 2am for 20 minutes - and stared hopelessly at those inside who were trying to get out. What if there had been a fire? Other than that, some member of the staff seemed annoyed when we asked for assistance with navigating our day.

On the plus side - room was clean, price was reasonable for location, it was a cheap taxi ride from the airport (about $15 usd), the wifi was decent and they have a small kitchenette on the lower level that is available for guests to use.

I stayed here twice and every time I was really satisfied. Good services. Very nice staff.Hotel is clean, rooms are nice and cozy. Hotel is in good location near to Moulin Rouge and Sacre Coeur, 200 meters from to metro station Place de Clichy.
Next time I will choose this hotel again.

My 19 year old daughter and I stayed here April 20-23. I was looking for a decent budget hotel. The room was immaculate and had everything we needed! It was an easy neighborhood to explore from, with Sacre Coeur and the Moulin Rouge within walking distance and the metro just a couple short blocks away. Enjoyed the neighborhood bakeries and restaurants, and the lobby area with tables where you could eat your pastries! Complimentary espresso and tea! Also great neighborhood grocery store just a minute walk from the hotel. Outstanding front desk help! We left our bags at the front desk the day of our arrival because we got in we before check in and again the day we left because we wanted to check out but sight see a little. Highly recommend hotel darcet!

Top location near two metro lines, clean tidy hotel on the small side for rooms but it's Paris so quiet normal . Friendly staff plenty of restraunts nearby but far enough from the dirty moulin rouge area ! Just remember parking is expensive but that's Paris

My girlfriend and I stayed one night in the Hotel Darcet as a stop over between the Champagne region and returning home to London. The hotel is within walking distance of the Gare du Nord (though if you have heavy luggage you may wish to take the metro) and central Paris, has numerous bars and restaurant locally and a delightful French bakery opposite. No breakfast was offered but complimentary tea and coffee making facilities are available in reception so I took drinks and pastries from the bakery back to the room for breakfast. One of the many cafe's could also have been chosen.

The staff were friendly, a large bottle of cold water was given to us when we got in from dinner, bags were stored after check out, maps provided etc.

The room was not cramped which can be the case in big cities, the bathroom was clean and modern and the room has a small desk. The only downside was that the 'double bed' was in fact two singles pushed together.

If in Paris, we would stay here again and have already recommended it to friends.

Basic hotel but just what you need in Paris. Location was excellent, close to metro, shops and restaurants. The room had everything we needed, just struggled to see in a mirror when straightening my hair which meant I had a unique hairstyle for my holiday! The hotel and room were clean and the shower was fab.
The room had electric shutters which stopped any light coming in, good for lie ins.
Breakfast isn't included but there is a room to eat your own food with free tea and coffee provided. As other reviews have mentioned there is a lovely shop opposite the hotel to get fresh pastries every morning.
Free Wifi was a plus.

Room Tip: We were in room 10 which was on the second floor, stairs to climb. Slight road noise, bin men at ten...
