“Very good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

Well situated near Les Invalides the hotel is small (and so are the rooms), but the rooms are clean and well maintained. The breakfast is basis but the croissants and bread are very fresh. Staff are pleasant. If you don't want luxury, but a good, solid hotel in central Paris, this can be recommended

Staff was extremely helpful. Location a couple short blocks from Ecole Militaire metro stop and short walk to Eiffel Tower is excellent and easily accessible to other sites in Paris. Located on a quiet side street between Ave. de Tourville and Ave. de la Motte-Picquet. Next stay in Paris will be here!

We booked this hotel based on Rick Steve's Paris guide and were very pleased. Great location in a quiet neighborhood, but close to two Metro stops and the rue Cler pedestrian shopping street. We spent four nights in Paris and loved having our lovely little room to return to. Hotel has a very nice breakfast room (good breakfast, too, and although one could eat more cheaply elsewhere we felt the quality of the food and convenience made it worth the price of 13 euros). Front desk staff all speak at least a little English; several are fluent. Rooms and bathroom were spotlessly clean, and although the room was small by American standards it was nicely appointed and well maintained.

Room Tip: We had a room in the back on the fourth floor which was nice and quiet. There are a few rooms that...

My mother and I stayed 3 nights at Hotel Muguet, which was very appropriate since we were there on May Day (May 1) where the French celebrate with boquets of muguet (lillies of the valley).Georges at the front desk is wonderful. He is very kind, helpful, efficient and speaks excellent English. He made hotel reservations for us, which I didn't realize we needed until he suggested it. Our restaurant turned away several diners, so we were gratefuly that Georges arranged a seating for us.

We stayed in a tripple room (#11 on the first floor - one flight up), which gave us a little extra space, including a sleeping alcove for me and two wardrobes. This room overlooks the street. If you are concerned about the size of Paris hotel rooms, I'd recommend the tripple for 2 people. Bathroom was great - tub, nice towels, etc. TV included CNN and BBC. My wireless device wasn't working (not hotel's fault) and I was thrilled that they also have a computer terminal in the lobby. Breakfast was excellent, including fresh squeezed orange juice in a sunny room near the garden.

The location is excellent, 5 min. walk to metro station, taxi stand, Rue Cler, restaurants, banks and about a 10 min. walk to the RER station. Just a few stops away from the museums. Easy to get around Paris via metro/bus. While close to the center, Hotel Muguet is on a side street, so it is very quiet at night. Both my mother and I felt very safe walking in the neighborhood.

Hotel Muguet has a night attendent as well. Everyone returns their key to the front desk when leaving the hotel. This is actually good. If a guest were to get pickpocketed the thief wouldn't have access to the hotel. There is a safe in the room. No eating in the rooms, but you can use the tables downstairs for a picnic lunch gathered from Rue Cler.

Downsides? Almost none. Mom thought the breakfast attendant was a bit noisy shuffling dishes. If that is the worst you can say, I think it's pretty good!

Room Tip: #11 is a quiet tripple with alcove and a tub

We spent 5 nights at this wonderful hotel in early April. We had shopped around and changed our plans and decided this was the best combination of location , price and accommodations. We wanted to be close to Rue Clear markets and bistros and the major Paris landmarks. We walked to and from the Eiffel Tower 3 times for different views at different times of day as well as the Louvre and d'Orsay easily. The front desk staff are bilingual and helpful, our room was spacious and comfortable and , we were never bothered once during our stay.

We had a three day layover in Paris and used the Rick Steve's book to find a Paris hotel. Hotel Muguet was even better then described in book. The staff was very polite, friendly and helpful despite my poor attempts at French. They spoke perfect English to me. The rooms were more spacious then you would think in Paris and they were clean and very, very nice. The location was perfect for us and we walked to all the sites, never needing a cab or train expect for Versailles which is not in Paris anyway. We had three in our group and the triple room was perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

My wife and I recently returned from a 6 night stay at Hotel Muguet in late April. We greatly enjoyed our stay and have recommended this hotel to our family and friends. The following is a list of the things that made staying at this hotel and excellent experience:

1. The location.
- Very close proximity (walking distance) to La Tour Marboug and Ecole Militare metro stations, restaurants, bakeries, and storefront areas.
- ~ 10 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower
- ~ 10 minute walk to the Rodin Museum
- Bank machine at the end of the street (BNP Paribas)

2. The staff.
- Extremely pleasant, helpful, and informed about almost anything.

3. The room.
- Perfect for my wife and I. Cozy. Clean. Comfortable (even with the average temp during our trip of 55-61 deg F).
